*She blushed a little and gave a sheepish nod.* "Uh, yes. Hard cider for me. I'm a grown mare, I can drink alcohol if I want, and I can handle it." *She said defensively, but still kept a sheepish attitude.* "But yes, soft cider or Apple juice for her, which ever one you have will do."

"No problem. I was just a little confused by the way you worded that whole thing, my apologies. I'll get you one from my little case of them and some soft cider for Dinky. Not a problem", he said with a chuckle and finished setting up the pizza before walking out to the living room and sat on the end of the couch so that Derpy could sit next to Dinky.

"Oh, sorry about that." *She apologized with a sheepish smile. She went and sat down next to Dinky, who was holding shooting controller in her magic and sat up against her mother, still focusing on the game, sticking her tongue out. Derpy giggled when she saw her tongue sticking out, thinking it was incredibly adorable.*

Aces just handed Derpy a hard cider and Dinky a soft one, promising there would be more if they wanted more. He silently how adorable Dinky was at the moment in her little gaming stance , thinking it would awkward for hi to say it out loud, but at least it kept his attention from Derpy.

*Both Derpy and Dinky took their drinks and thanked him. Derpy opened hers with no problem, but Dinky struggled, eventually resorting to her mother to open it for her. When it was opened, she took a sip from it and continued to focus on the television. Derpy turned to Aces.* "Hey, uh. Can you make sure I don't have too many of these? It'd help." *She asked him shyly.*

He chuckle at the going ons around him a d nodded. "Sure Derpy, no problem. I'm gonna go ahead and limit ya to three how's that sound", he asked considering that meant he got three and she got three. He looked at the time a bit later and went to check the pizzas.

"Sure, three sounds good. I just need to be able to take Dinky home safely." *Derpy said as she nuzzled Dinky, who started to whine and squirm in protest of her mother messing her game up. Derpy giggled at the adorableness of her daughter and sat back to watch whatever she was doing.*

Aces pulled the pizzas out of the oven and set them in the granite counter. "Pizzas ready, guys take it when you want it", he called as he set out three places and dropped a couple slices on it after cutting them. He went back to the couch and set it down on the table. "Just save room for ice cream if you want any, and don't worry if you make a mess. I'll take care of it".

"Alright. Let's go eat Dinky." *Derpy said to her daughter, patting her on the back. They both got up and trotted their way into the kitchen, smelling the fragrance of the pizza filling the kitchen.* "Mmm, smells delicious Aces, thank you." *She said, immediately followed by a thank you from her daughter. She got themselves some pizza and trotted back to the couch and put on some tv.*

Aces smiled and nodded in their direction. "No problem, I make pizza a lot and it's nice to eat pizza with others so I figured why not incite you guys iver", he said simply. He opened up his own hard cider and toss the bottle cap into a small bucket by the door.

*Derpy sat down next to Dinky and took a bite of her fresh pizza after letting it cool off for a bit.* "Mmm, Aces this is delicious!" *She said, Dinky making a 'Mmhmm!' In agreement.* "Where did you learn to make pizza this good?" *She asked, amazed at how good the food was.*

"My cousins ex-coltfriend is a chef. He taught me how to cook, so I'm a decent chef, I suppose. And thank you", he said with a chuckle. "Easy as much or as little as you guys like, I made sure there was plenty for all of us", he added with a friendly smile. He was becoming more and more happy to have invited them over.

"Thank you very much for inviting us over Aces, we really appreciate it." *Derpy said as Dinky turned around and nodded in agreement and thanked him. Dinky finished her food quickly and rushed away to put her dishes in the kitchen.* "Told you she will eat anything." *Derpy said to Aces and giggled.*

"No problem. Anytimr you guys want to come over just come over,. I'm almost always home, and you guys are always welcome", he said before realizing what was going through his head. "Damn... She is too cute..... But, she's got a daughter...... Which means if I were to ask her out.... I'd gave to be willing to hang out with Dinky..... Which I am.... But if I were to ask her out and she said yes.... Would I have to like, play the daddy role in her life ....... I dont know... Wait... Is she even singke", he asked himself with a facehoof. "Hey, Derpy... Um are you single, just curious", he whispered.

*Derpy's ear flickered and stood up straight when she heard Aces ask her if she was seeing anypony.* "Um, no I'm not seeing anypony at the moment." *She replied. She then started to think to herself.* "Why would he ask if I'm with anyone? Is he interested in me?" *She thought to herself, her cheeks turning a light red when she thought of him being interested in her.*

Aces went the kitchen to grab himself another cider. While in the kitchen he flipped a coin, hoping they wouldn't turn and see since then he'd have to explain why. "Heads, I ask her out on a date, tails, I shut my mouth and leave her alone", he muttered to himself.

*Derpy sat with Dinky watching whatever they pleased on the television while Derpy sipped on her hard cider and began to think to herself.* "Wait, so if he is interested me then, huh? I mean, he is very sweet and generous maybe. I don't know, I need to think." *She thought to herself.*

He flipped the coin and it landed flat on tails, which was the opposite of the outcome he wanted. He personally believed coin flips were the universe telling you something was a bad idea, so tails meant asking would end in rejection and her not hanging out with him anymore. He trudged back to the couch and sat down rubbing his temples.

*Derpy noticed Aces was rubbing his temples like something was bothering him when he returned from the kitchen, doing whatever it was he was doing in there.* "Aces, are you ok? Is something wrong?" *Derpy asked him, wanting to know if anything happened in the past few minutes that bugged him.*

"Yeah, I'm fine. I've just got something on my mind that's bugging me. No big deal", he said with a smile and started on the cider he had grabbed. "I just to think something through before I do something I might end regretting. That's all so you don't have anything to worry about".

"Oh, alright. If there's anything bothering you, you can just tell me." *She said, hoping nothing would really truly bother him too much. She finished her hard cider and placed the bottle in the table and looked over at Dinky, trying to keep her bottle steady in her magic and smiled at her effort.*

He took his hat hat off of the table to cover his face and hide his blush. "No offense but you're thelast pony I'd want to tell about this little problem of mine. I just don't want to go that route so qquickly. It's just... Well... You're the thing in my mind that's troubling me", he said with a sigh.

*Her ears perked up and turned to him with a blush on her face. She turned to Dinky, knowing this will be a private matter.* "Dinky, get your book out of your saddle bag and go to the kitchen and practice levitating and reading." *She told her daughter, who did so. She turned back to Aces and sighed.* "What do you mean?"

He sighed and put the hat down. "Well, goodbye self respect. can keep my own mouth shut and now you're going to hate me..", he said and finished his bottle of cider. "Please don't hate me, Derpy... The problem I have... I want to Um... Ask you out but I know it's a bad idea, and you would probably never talk to me again", he said quietly

*Derpy felt a blush rise up to her cheeks and felt the heat on her furry muzzle.* "Wait, huh? So let me get this straight. You. Want to ask ME out?" *She asked, dumbfounded that a pony actually wanted to ask her out on a date. She thought she wouldn't really find anyone, and it'd just be her and Dinky.*
