Flash Sentry Characterization

This post is simple, what would you like to see the show do with the characterization of Flash (pony version, but i don't care if you do human to)?

 

I personally see him as just being an ordinary guard who is very confused about how he keeps bumping into the princess of friendship. the main reason he joined the guard was so that he could help his family pay off a debt. he was moved to the crystal empire when he got a pony killed during the changeling invasion. he actually wants to see some sort of action, but the guard won't let him deal with the more violent things(or at least as violent as ponies can get ) because he tends to overdo it. his cutie mark means that he has lightning fast reflexes, especially when it comes to the art of combat.

But not when bumping into royalty

 

I think Flash has the potential for a true romance role. We already have a married couple, what about a dating couple? They could show the beginnings of a relationship, as opposed to established ones. So long as they don't do it in just one episode, or movie, I think it could work.

I think he's a boring Gary Sue, so any real character development would be a welcome change.

Ok i will try to make him as interesting character as possible. Here we go:

 

After the failure of Chrysalis and her banishment, one of the changelings who suppose to infiltrate the castle as a royal guard was able to resist the powerfull love barrier used by Cadance and Shining Armor. However it still made an effect on him. He forgot who he was before turning into a pony and now he really think that he is a normal pony guard and that his name is in fact Flash Sentry. Since no one noticed him before and he was never registeres as a guard. He was forced to leave Canterlot. Somehow he stumbled upon Cadance who offered him a work in Crystal Empire. He was taken by the crystal ponies and treated as a recruit, although by their suprise he was talented in arts of war, earning him a place as the royal finest and possible captain.

Recently he started to feel heavy headaches and in his dreams he saw the dark valleys with green skies full of insect-like creatures gathering in the hive-like mountain. When he woke up, he was so lost in thoughts about meaning of these dreams that he didnt notice what was in front of him. This was the moment when he accidentally bumbed into one of the royal Princesses that visited Crystal castle that day. Princess Twilight Sparkle.

Just give something he's working towards and a personal conflict he needs to get over. Maybe he realizes he's awkward and tried to get over that while also pursuing a career (presumably one as a guard).

Maybe as a recurring funny background event, like Derpy has been doing in season 2 could, make a good start, later, he could be progressively more in the foreground
