Star grunted in annoyance she reached up, flipping off his frequency channel.

"I don't need you over my job saggy bag." She snorted.

"Moving to waypoint setting... And Sinu we are not engaging the drive just to travel a small distance." She says.

"I don't like being a show pony for a business suit."

⁂ "Star, I'm not being a 'show pony'; the purpose of using the drive to travel such a short distance is simply practical." Sinu opens a graph on one of the computer screens. "As shown here, the safety of using the space rift generator decreases at a drastic exponential rate, as the distance traveled increases. We need to test this technology while still in contact range, and we should also only travel a short distance to decrease the risk of fatal error."

"That don't make sense! This technology hasn't even been tested! We could blow up even if we..." Star stopped. She groaned silently to herself.

"Waypoint is ready. Ready the FTL coordinates and we'll proceed." She says.

Ginger heard a knock at his office. Gizmo awaited patiently, he shakes about dancing with his electronic music. He met a majority of the crew other then the zoologist. Might as well make acquaintance.

⁂ Sinu throws his pen down, unbuckles from his chair, and walks to his living quarters. Completely isolated and alone in the room, he slams his head down on the table, angrily mumbling; "Do you idiots want to not die?! Hey, who spent several years learning how this stuff works? Guess who did research on the inter-dimensional workings of wormholes for MONTHS IN ADVANCE! You don't care whether we die or not, but I do, and I say TEST THE FREAKING SPACE RIFT GENERATOR!" He then gets up, hits himself in the head several times, and walks out of the room calmly, yet noticeably shaking. Returning to his seat, he says; "Sorry about that; the stress of being about to die kind of got to me." He picks up his pen and writes down a few equations, a bit simpler than the others, and types the coordinates and variables into his computer. "There, I've entered the control settings for FTL."

the engines hummed loudly as they prepared for FTL travel and began to glow brightly

 

on the console in front of the pilot, a message popped up reading "ENGINES PRIMED" indicated they were ready to blast off once the command was made to go forward to the destination

Star looked over to the anxious pony her expression becoming concerned... Feeling relatable, just as she had once when she began her flight and that immense fear of pain and death. With him busy on his console she leaves her seat and gently pats him comfortingly.

"It'll be alright." She says in a rare gentle tone.

⁂ Sinu looks up at star; "I'm sorry; I just—" He hits his hoof on the table; "No. I'm not letting neurosis get to me this time; lets do this." His horn lights up as he puts away his pen and papers, types a few things into his computer, and pulls several levers behind him, all at once. "I'm all right with these risks." He says with a determined facial expression.

⁑ Edge leaves the central turret area and walks to his gunner seat in the cockpit. Looking at Sinu, he says; "What happened to you? Is this some stupid crap about being brave and stuff? Because you're not; you should just get up and leave." He points at the airlock; "Seroiusly, just go. Right now."

Star snorted, "How about I knock your plot into the airlock?"

She threatened the arrogant Stallion.

"I don't want to hear another word out of your muzzle. Now get the buck back to your hole." She commanded in her aggressive tone. She stared about her eyes narrow in fury just wanting to wallop the idiot.

the radio came to life "alright, fire the engines, once you show off the FTL engines, we will give you a planet to jump to using the space rift generator, our rivals are probably watching us show them up,we have a few people monitoring their stocks, and already they are dropping! so give our audience a show!"

⁑ "Wow, calm down." Edge says to star, half smiling; "I was kidding; you ponies really can't take a joke."

⁂ Sinu turns around; "We can't tell if you're joking or not."

⁑ "Only because you can't take a joke."

⁂ "I can't ever understand you."

⁑ "You're the only one."

⁂ Sinu sighs and checks the power status; "Engines are at full power; we should prepare for hyperjump." He straps in and locks his chair.

⁑ Edge finally decides to just stay quiet, and walks to the back of the ship.

⁂ After waiting for everypony else to strap in and get ready, he unlocks the cover over the activation button. "Possibly goodbye, world." He says, and presses the button.

the ship begins accelerating like crazy, leaving only a blur behind them, and within a few minutes they come to a stop half way across the solar system, the radio then cracks to life "the media loved it! now for the big show, weve located a planet about 3000 light-years away, looks promising, use the Space Rift Generator and go check it out, however i warn you, one you go in the worm hole, we wont be able to contact you again until you get back, make us all proud, the ESO is counting on you guys!"
