Clean looked at his calender, then his clock, then back at his calender. He sighed. It was really happening. He sat down, shivering, wondering what he should do next. What would happen if he refused to do anything? What if something he did made this happen? He shook his head, confused and angry. What was going on? What? Why? How? He got up and trotted in to his bathroom, hoping that he could fix this. Opening his drug cabinet, Clean got out some sleeping pills his doctor had prescribed to him a few months back. Looking at the bottle, he took a few, three, and crawled back in to bed after changing his calendar. He hoped that sleeping might be able to fix what ever was broken. Maybe he could just call this a sick day? He rolled around in his bed for a few minutes before he felt the pills start to take effect. As he drifted off to sleep, he wondered what tomorrow would be like.

February 2nd, 8:00 AM, loop 3

 

For the third time in what seemed like only a few hours, Clean Livin' awoke to the sound of a blaring alarm. A quick glance at the clock confirmed it was 8:00 exactly, just as it had been the last two times he had awoken. Clean realized that falling asleep would not break him out of the strange nightmare and, if the incident from two "days" ago was indication, neither would dying, he began to wonder if he would be stuck in the apparent time-loop forever. Pushing the disturbing thought from his head, Clean climbed out his bed with a new goal of finding out how to stop whatever was happening to him.

Clean got up and went through his usual routine of getting ready only stopping when he started making brunch. Instead of getting food ready, he put a pot of coffee on and after it was ready, went to the door opening it before, as he knew was going to happen, Zypher could knock. "Good morning fare mail mare! Would you like a bit of coffee?"
