Warning about Text Written before Leaving a page

One thing I would really like to see on the forums is a warning that I'm about to leave a thread with text on the text box where I write my responses. Too often have I typed a long post, only to see it disappear because I accidentally pressed back on my browser (or to see the browser do this on its own, independent of the forum activity). 

 

Perhaps just a little box warning that I'm about to close (or leave) a webpage or browser with text still on the text box would be most helpful for facilitating the posting of longer responses on a thread.

Can be done, but I said this in another thread, this happens to me all the time on many sites. You might be interested in the addon called Lazarus Form Recovery, regardless!

There is actually a feature within the forums that is supposed to save a certain amount of your message, but it is not very... Reliable, to put it nicely. I second this, and it shouldn't be a complex solution either, least not from what I have learned in XHTML classes. However I don't know what the forums use or if there are set limits to what it can do, but provided it can be done it doesn't seem like a bad idea at all

I would find this useful as well, as Autosave doesn't function properly and I often find myself losing a lot of text when I have to use that feature. World of Equestria, which uses the same forum software as MLPF, has the suggested feature implemented, so it is possible. I think it would come in handy in many cases, namely those with long, thought out replies to a thread.

The Internet has always hated me.  I thought it was just me having this problem & am glad to know I'm not the only one.
