The Everfree Campaign (Dieselpunk) OOC, Sign-Up

 

Now before anyone blows a fuse, yes, I ripped off Fallout: Equestria and yes, I ripped off names from MLP and yes, more ripping off will be done but bear with me.

Welcome to Everfree, a land of cultural diversity and a land where anyone can make their fortune if they work for it. Mostly… Just don’t get in the way of the MoM and you’ll be fine.

For five long years Everfree has been at war with its north-western neighbor, the Griffon Kingdom, over recourses, such as coal and oil, and broken treaties on both sides have only fueled the growing fire of war. The two sides have kept fighting constant on the border of the two countries with neither side having a clear advantage or be able to break the other’s line. The Griffons fight for honor and to avenge the fallen while Everfree for justice, in their eyes, and for the Griffon oil that the economy runs on. As the war went on both sides slowly built stronger and bigger machines to fight but the fighting still remains infantry based. To the southern line it has evolved into trench warfare with the northern line staying mobile as the sides fight for border towns each having its own loyalty.

Meanwhile in Elkmont, the Everfree capital, the MoM and MoI are cooking up something big under everyone’s noses and with the war on no one pays much attention to them either. Once thought to be a silly legend turns out to be true and the two ministries want it. Even with everyone thinking it’s false they follow after it knowing it to be real. If they get their way the world will be in the palm of their hands. 

You are in Progress for whatever reason, I don’t frankly care. Whether or not you wanted to you’re dragged into the mystery of the century that will send you across the world, through warzones, and into the depths of metropolises, all while dodging the most powerful organization in the world who wants the same thing you do.

Things to Know:
The Everfree Ministries

Ministry of Wartime Technology (MWT): Specializes in mechanical tech. Despite the official name most call the it the Ministry of Technology as it works heavily in the domestic field. It is the forefront in weapons development and other military gear. 

Ministry of Image (MoI): Specializes in media monitoring, censorship, and propaganda. Officially its job is to inform the people and run state newspapers but everyone knows more is happening than that.

Ministry of Morale (MoM): Specializes in keeping peace and a calm populace. Well that’s what they say they so. Everyone really knows that they act as a secret police and have a small army of mercenaries ready to raid any location. Get in their way and you won’t see tomorrow.

Ministry of Peace (MoP): Specializes in medicine and health. Half Everfree’s hospitals are run by the MoP with the other half getting supplies from the MoP. A huge number of medical units run by the MoP are up and down the front line treating anyone who needs help, civilian, Everfree, or Griffon.

Ministry of Science (MoS): Specializes in scientific research. Nothing really more to say. They just dig around with chemicals and other whatnot…


The Regions:
The Heartland: Largest region in Everfree in area and second largest in population. It’s the breadbasket of Everfree and almost endless field.

The Hills: Mines everywhere. All of Everfree’s coal is pumped out of the Hills. Unknowingly it also holds Griffon internment camps set up by the MoM.

The Coast: A place bustling with trade and enterprise, the capitalist paradise. Has the most people of the regions.

The Mountains: An almost tribal region full of custom and age-old tradition. Very sparsely populated. Some of Everfree’s best fighters come from here as young boys go off to war in the name of family pride. Anyone with a strange name probably form here.

If you don’t know what Deasilpunk here’s a crash course. Played Fallout? That’s Deasilpunk watered down. If you haven’t played Fallout:
Think WWII era tech… Okay, now think that and add steampunk minus the steam. Or just look it up in Google. That’ll be easier.

1. I don’t to see any godmodding crap. If you do something stupid you’re going to get whacked for it whether that be with a hand or with a bullet.
2. I’ll take your charter having a good skill or two but you’re not a jack of all trades. At least for now.
3. My word is final.
4. No one-liners.
5. And keep it clean people. No sexy-times allowed.
6. I can add rules mid-RP should they be needed.

You follow the crack in the old wooden wall across the room as the Black Book said. It suddenly stops. "Dig it from its cage" the book says. You kick at the wall to only find it sturdy and strong. No use... A piece of paint falls from the crack. Huh? You scratch at the new hole taking away more paint. The wall suddenly fell open revealing a golden knife on a pedestal and lit by candles attacked to the walls around it. The old man who owns the place told you if anything strange happens to get him right away and in the tone as if it was life and death... But the knife almost seems to call you... It wants you to take it. It's only a knife after all.

Name: Atlas Jackson

Background: Born to a Heartland-Mountians family near Elkmont. Had a normal childhood lacking of turmoil. Signed up for the Army right out of high school and was stationed on the Northern Border. Got out of the army a few months before the war broke out. Began career as a hired gun which lasted only a few months then began doing odd-jobs around the country. After a good year of that began a career as a "free-lance retriever and archaeologist" as he puts it. Through his travels he has connections all over the world as well enemies.

Reason for being in Progress: "Business" Delivering an unknown item to the MoM Hub for a large number of flaks (Everfree Currency)

What is on your Person at the start: Fez, white t-shirt, leather jacket, blue jeans, combat boots, some money, weapons, train tickets

Anything else to be Noted: Has friends in the Griffon Kingdom, Everfree Government, Everfree Army, Gangs in New Elkmont and 
Progress, Mountain tribes. Just as many enemies as friends many of which out for blood. 

This is borderline. Any stronger than this and I'll put the character under check. (I need him to be this strong for plot reasons)
