Zyla Fae 5,411 January 17, 2015 Share January 17, 2015 This is quite simply a place for people who like to type, whether you're a 100 WPM touch typist, or a slow typer that wants to improve, this is a place to share resources and achievements with other people who like to type. Since I am the creator of the club, here's a tiny bit about me and typing: I am a computer nerd, from the moment I get up in the morning to when I go to sleep, I am either on some sort of electronic device, making music, or with animals (I petsit) I used to be into HTNL and the like, and I could probably do some more if I wanted to. But anyway, I found out about the Dvorak keyboard layout, and after that I started using it since I heard it was good for speed, I tried to get back up to my touch typing speed on Qwerty, and somewhere inthere I realized how much I like typing, I haven't quite mastered touch typing on Dvorak yet, but I've gotten back up to my Qwerty speed of 30-50 WPM (it varies a lot...) Anyway, resources of note for learning and training: Any layout: 10fastfingers.com - a nice tool for training and seeing how quickly you can type, you can either use randomly generated words in your language, or set text inputted by a user. Dvorak layout: Dvorak.nl - mainly made for beginners to the Dvorak layout, it gives you random words containing only certain letters, starting with the home row and slowly adding more letters in

lomk 20,666 January 18, 2015 Share January 18, 2015 I'll bet I can punch it to 100+ wpm once I learn Dvorak I'm sitting pretty at 85-90 on QWERTY 3 I refuse to let go until you're impressed. I refuse to let go until I'm depressed.

I'll bet I can punch it to 100+ wpm once I learn Dvorak I'm sitting pretty at 85-90 on QWERTY heh, I bet your keyboards gonna blow up after you get good at Dvorak with that speed in Qwerty :derP;I'd definitely recommend trying dvorak.nl, it's pretty good training for helping learn the keyboard layout
MsMegan91 117 January 18, 2015 Share January 18, 2015 I love typing, I'm quite lucky that my job involves a lot of letter-writing etc so my speed and accuracy is improving all the time! 2 Credit to DSanders for my signature
CheeryFox 23,824 January 18, 2015 Share January 18, 2015 I'm pretty slow at typing...unless I have a lot of java/tea. 50 WPM max, roughly. With a caffeine boost, upwards of 140 WPM? Lol. 1 Sōten ni zase...Hyōrinmaru!

Lol. I'm not sure I'd really call 50 WPM slow.... It's a pretty good speed, considering that the average is no more than 42 Plus it's my top speed at the moment Edited January 18, 2015 by Nomed Deps

It's a pretty good speed, considering that the average is no more than 42 Plus it's my top speed at the moment In a professional setting, that's considered slow. And that's max, which I rarely reach anyway. I did a test not long ago, my score was 40 WPM with an accuracy of around 98.1% (excluding medical, tech terms, etc.). Sōten ni zase...Hyōrinmaru! Simcity11100 773 January 18, 2015 Share January 18, 2015 considering that I haven't really done a typing test in about 3 years I would say my max without errors is around 55, but whatever i guess.
