sweetolebob18 728 January 18, 2015 Share January 18, 2015 Well, to my mind, the Ponyville education system is like the old time "one room school house" of pioneer days. (If you've ever seen "Little House on the Prairie" or read the "Great Brain" books you know what I mean). This would mean ponies of various ages would be in class together & Cheerilee could be 4 or 5 years older & still in class w Rarity. Also, IRL, up until the 1930s, less than 1/3 all Americans went on to High School after 8th grade. So, there is the question of How Old Are the Mane 6? In episode 23 the Cutie Mark Chronicles, they look about the same age as the CMCs (except, maybe, T looks younger). Still, Pinkie is out of school & working on her farm & AJ is free to just go to Manehatten & neither seems to be in school. Plus, Twist works in her parents' candy shop. So, yes, I would say most ponies are only in school until, at most, 8th grade (14 years old) & after that are out working. T would possibly be a rare exception to that, but even so she was just sent to Ponyville at what we would call an absurdly young age.
RainbowTashie 378 January 19, 2015 Share January 19, 2015 never really thought about it i feel like they just added cheerilie's classroom as a nod that they ponies actually go to school/ The cmc are there quite a bit. maybe cause AJ and pinkie were set to be working on their respective farms their parents decided against education idk :S Sig tweaked to perfection by Coby!
