Doodle Dabble

Hey, guys! Who here was excited for the Lullaby animation??? I have loved the song for years and followed this animation for nearly as long, and so for the premiere, I released a little bit of a love project for this ^^ hope you enjoy!!!

What do you guys think? What would yours be in real life and how did you choose it?

Born-again Christian, raised Southern Baptist, going to an Assembly of God school, and attending a Free Methodist church. I attend the church since it's a Japanese church and because God has called me to work in Japan, so I want to get connected with the Japanese Christian community. I consider myself a Jesus nerd as I love philosophy and apologetics and theology; I am very concerned about and intrigued by the truth of God. If I know something of the Bible, then I will stick and live by it. And if I am proven wrong, then I will change. I do believe, though, that some things are more unclear and stand alongside Paul when he says that we shouldn't let our denominations divide us. We can agree to disagree - and there is room for us to be wrong on the details - because what matters is the core of the Gospel. The reason I'm here is to find some like-minded individuals with whom to speak about an array of topics- not all of my topics, for differing viewpoints can edify the debaters' viewpoints, but ones that require like-mindedness and then some fun ones ^^ To be honest, I'm surprised more of the fandom isn't comprised of religious bronies (of any faith, really.) Considering the show is big on morals, I would figure that those big on moral ambiguity would avoid it. Maybe since the morals are friendship lessons that are often good words of wisdom?

Would the Ponyville Education system work for you?

If his channel got taken down, then many others should be taken down as well. There are plenty of reviewers that thrive on talking about how horrible some shows' quality are.

Economics is so awesome! I'm looking into getting my masters in it. My school is too small for an economics specialization. This semester I am taking Macro, Management, and Marketing, so I wanna relate those to MLP. One idea is looking into the connection between the creators and the fans and how that communication has affected the show. Another is a smaller one for marketing looking at the "Battle of the Bands" and comparing it to marketing strategies. If I could, I would love to do research into the economics of nerd culture- what intrigues me is that we don't want to pay to watch the show but will pay handsomely for something with the name or a character on it. Ooo computer/science is wonderful. There are so many possibilities for jobs and hobbies with that. When I think of trumpets, I often think of Patsu's song from "Castle in the Sky". Such a lovely instrument. Also very very fun with bandstand songs! (I'm a sucker for old oldies XD) Thank you for the encouragement! I will continue to do my best and hone my skills *determined fist*

I have to agree. Analysis is what saved my fandom in a sense, because without the analysis, I would never have thought of MLP as more than just a fun show and likely would have passed over it after a while. However, I do agree with a couple of TO's points; overanalyzing is something I struggle with in reality, and once analysis had been applied to this, overanalyzation was doomed to follow. Media has become less enjoyable to me when I got into criticism; I focused much less on the fun of the piece and so much on what was wrong with it (and sometimes right.) I had to take a step back and separate myself from things that made me think this way temporarily. Tommy Oliver's over focusing on the bad made him lose his enjoyment of the show, and I think that part of it, if his experience was anything like mine, could be that he felt like he shouldn't be enjoying it. But that was the problem- it was overanalyzing that was killing my enjoyment of media. Figuring out how an author made his/her point is exciting, but trying to guess whether a movie was "good" or not became scary because someone else was going to say "It was horrible and you should feel bad watching it!" or something along those lines. What things should I be enjoying? That's why I like to have two scales: objective and subjective "good" meters. Objective is how well it is crafted and subjective is how much I enjoyed it. ​The Odyssey is a book I highly respect yet absolutely despised reading, and yet "Call me Maybe" isn't the best written but it is just a fun song. Analysis is said to be what brings a piece to its completion, but overanalyzation is the same momentum in the opposite direction.

@SFyr Thank you so much ^^ I am so glad you enjoyed. Doodle is a fun persona to play with I'm a music minor in college; my major is business, which will show up in later topics. Since this was my first video, I wanted to utilize the audio I could use in a video and decided to do my top 5 songs. I do intend to do more like this. As stated in the video, I will be doing more covers, and I'm taking a couple of commissions for voice work as well. The next one will be spoken with one little diddy I'll be doing thats about 5 seconds long with my ukulele. Also looking at minimizing the words on screen to notes or short phrases with more emphasis on the pictures. This one was an experiment in part to see how what I had already been doing, hand-drawn reviews, would translate into a video. The next videos will be to refine my style for the medium
