Follow us, we'll take you all to the emperor." One of the guards said and then begun walking towards the throne room. Other guardian walks with him.

 

Blue Crystal was sitting at his throne, waiting somewhat: Excited about meeting new ponies after years of being and seeing just earth ponies.

"Hmm... that is interesting. Most of us live in large underground cities, we never really understood why other ponies lived above ground. I would be interested in a tour of one of your above ground cites after I meet with your emperor. By the way, is there anything I should know about the emperor before I meet with him? I would hate to offend him..."

The Quintican Capital port... I guess

 

The massive warship steamed on the horizon, escorted by two 74-gun third rates. It was 80m long and 12m wide. The hull raised 20m above the water while the center mast (out of the three) was 75m tall, holding the beautiful royal sails, golden, carefully sown, with the royal coat of arms on each. The six steam engines left a giant column of smoke behind the ship. On its bow layed the figurehead, a golden eagle, holding a skull in one of its claws and a sword in the other. It was roughly twice the size of a pony. Beside the 1200 crew manning the ship, the royal guard and servants added another 600 ponies to the frey. The ship flew the Ponssian flag as it slowly reached port. The two escorts remained in the open, in case they needed to protect the flagship. Ropes were thrown to the quinticans on the pprt, which shouldve been awed by the largest sailing ship in the world. A long staircase was lowered from the upper deck of the ship and 30 soldiers, dressed in black, formed two lines of 15 at the bottom, on each side of the staircase. 8 of them had trumpets and played them to honor the disemarking king. Another 4 soldiers (walking in a 2x2 square) walked down, followed by the king and two servant, another 4 soldiers followed down after. Then it was Sunny's turn to walk down. The king looked around (maybe u can detail the city... Buildings, ponies, etc) waiting for a welcome.

A few Ponssians did follow the Cidonians, but the ritual looked a lot like the pagan gods that were worshipped in the old days, nevertheless a few showed interest and one actually started writing a new holy book, trying to combine the ponssian and cidonian beliefs, this was heresy for the church. This was short-lived as ponies in white robes and red crosses entered his house and took him away. Many of those who entered the shrines fled in fear as these were the inquizitors. In order to take control of things, one of the 24 cardinals was sent to the new Hoofsburg. As he landed he was met by a huge crowd, desperately trying to touch him or get his blessing. The infamous Hoofs Guard made sure the cardinal was sFe and escorted to the largest church in the city. The cathedral was going to be his new chair. Out of the 92, 000 Ponssians, 75,000 rushed to the church that week.

 

The fort was filled of foreign legion soldiers, these were not professional soldiers but trained explorers or adventurers. An earth pony in a red uniform (think of British redcoats) stepped forward,

"I am."

"That does sound like a sad tale... I'll be delighted to hear it if your emperor wants to tell it. Although I am curious how you ponies survived this long without unicorns, without magic. To be without magic seems to me a death sentence! Your nation must be powerful indeed to not need magic."

The diplomat considered the Duke's words carefully. They had powerful magic indeed, if they could make a ship fly. However, he was puzzled by the Duke's declaration that the land was not worth anything. Admittedly, the diplomat had not seen a lot of the land, but to him it looked very fertile, at least compared to their own land.   

 

"A ship that flies through the air is an impressive feat of magic indeed! I am Diplomat Peaceful Solution, from Medeis. It is a pleasure to meet you!"

The Duke giggled a bit,

"Magic, that is not magic. It is a basic physical principle. We use science, not magic. I have been informed that you wished to see me and discuss something

(Compared to my land, which is nothing but sharp, jagged gravel intermixed with towering mountains of volcanic rock, it's paradise.)

 

The diplomat didn't believe a word of this 'science' malarkey for a second, especially since science and magic were practically the same thing. No doubt they wanted to keep the specifics of the spell a secret, which was understandable. They would lose a big tactical advantage if knowledge of the spell's workings got out, so they probably invented this 'science' lie to convince everypony that there was no spell, thus keeping the spell secret. Quite ingenious, really. Of course, the diplomat knew he'd have to go along with the lie if he wanted to establish diplomatic relations.

 

"Yes. I wish to establish diplomatic relations with your country."

High Priest Klux and his 2 robed assistants took a new approach, took some of the Ponissian unicorns that had shown interest in Cidionian religion and with the help of his assistants, started teaching them how to use magic, as he had a hypothesis, every unicorn had magic ability, but he gathered that the unicorns from that land went through many generations of never being taught how to use it, he told them that through him, the sun goddess would unlock their magic potential, and his assistants helped them unlock their magic, they were told that the sun goddess grants them their magic power. by the end of the first session, the unicorn participants could turn the pages of a book with their magic.

 

The manticore rider looked down on him "You are far from Clexto Ponnissian, I hope you understand this settlement is under our watch" the other manticore riders walked around the settlement looking around "We will not bring harm to you, or this settlement, although we will send a priest here to rebless this land, otherwise the spirits of the dead of  who roam the desert will kill everyone here"

After the successful session, the two unicorns happily roamed down the streets lifting rocks off the ground. As they turbed left on a shadowy road they got stung in the back of their necks. It was some sort of tranquilizer shot by the inquizitors, the two ponies were loaded into sacks and taken away for interogation, never to be seen in Hoofsburg again.

 

"This for is here by the treaty signed between our governments", the earth pony said, smoking a cigar, "and these civilians are protected, i assure you." He polished his pistol.

"Spirits if the dead, huh, ghost stories."

 

A guard dog approached one of the manticores.

Magic classes were still open to the public and continued, one night an angry priest approached one of the churches and with his assistant, deblessed the area that the chruch stood on, the area glowed with red magic and when the glow ended spirits rose, ghostly spiritual husks of long dead ponies arose from the ground and started roaming the halls of the church, a janitor got in the way of one of the spirits, it grabbed him and screamed a ghostly scream and bit a chunk out of his neck, any pony else who was in the church at the time was killed, the next morning, that priest stood outside the church, faint white whisps were seen floating around inside, the priest yelled "LOOK! THIS PLACE HAS DISHONORED THE SUN GODDESS LIXIN! AND THUS UNBLESSED THIS LAND!" 

 

The rider sighed and shook his head "these are no stories...I lost my friend to a spirit when patroling unblessed land, the desert is a very dangerous place at night" he took a second to sigh, upon remembering his friend, he took a deep breath "Much death happened in this land long ago, and the sands latched on to their souls, and release them during the night"

 

The manticore growled a much deeper growl at the dog

The cardinal was informed of what happened, he was also informed that the unicorn did some magic before the terrible thing happened. Shortly after a group of priests and monks appeared in the church, they walked slowly, with theyre eyes closed and hummed, they were dressed in simple cloaks. The priest leading the group entered the courtyard and took out a cross.

 

"By the name of Thee that rules the world, the father, the sun and the holy spirit. He comands you to leave this sacred place and return to the hell you came from." The monks started saying something in latin, the ancient language of the area where Ponssia was situated.

 

Through the dense factory smoke a circle of light appeared and a small tornado-like whirlpool surrounded the church.

 

"Return to the hell you came from and send the spirits of those lost to theeyre rightful place in heaven!"

 

A giant hole appeared in the fround sucking all the dead spirits in. Then, white bulbs (the church attendants) were seen raising in the sky. The wind and light stopped and all was silent. The priest looked at the ground.

 

"This chrch has not been blessed in His name!"

 

He took out some holy water and threw it upon te church door, mumbling in latin. Ust as a precaution this was done to all the churches, protecting them from anything that might be thrown at them.

 

 

"No worries, we got our priest and chapel if anything happens." The captain said, a bit bored as an unicorn in a ragged, black cloak walked by them. The dog quickly backed off.

The rider spoke "A priest will be here tomorrow"  and he and his troop got together and continued their patrol, the rider turned his head "Just remember dont go too far into the desert at night" and then they left

 

Klux had a talk with the priest about abusing power, but he found it interesting that the church ponies could use magic while the rest of the population couldnt

 

 

The Cidonians in the city stayed with their own and stuck together, increasingly feeling more and more outcast, staying nearing shrines and the 60m tower monument, Klux stayed in Hoofsberg to help the Cidonians, he tended to notice that any Ponissians that showed interest in the newly formed Cult of Lixin, vanished, and they found a box of holy books washed up in a crate outside the city limits, he launched an underground investigation,

Reports of the dark magic used by the priest on the church before the incident spread and 7 police-ponies arrived at his shrine to arrest him and his assistants, in the name of the law.(non-religious related... Just... Murder).

 

The Church started encouraging Cidonians to attend church meatings as well. They started giving out free Bibles and gold crosses. They offered sin forgiveness to any converts. This was a countermeasure to the Cidonian tries, but trying to be more effective.

 

There would be no clues for Klux to find as the inquizitors were highly skilled in making ponies "disappear", they were then sent back to Ponssia.

Flits stood up to great the governess. "Welcome back ma'am." He gave the other younger governesses a charming smile "Ladies." Then he gave the kids a normal smile. "Hey kids. Hope you all got a sweet tooth. Something grand for dessert tonight." He looked back at the head governess. "And don't worry, it was a little nuts at first but I got them to calm down. "

 Of course the sound of trumpets could be hear, drawing a good bit of attention. A few dock workers, some ponies some not, watched as the king made his way off the ship. A few of the workers were acting like they were touching a crown jewel while they tied down the ship. Soon a few others start to come and see what the ruckus was about, which made a rather large crowd.

 

Behind the crowd was a large city, filed with skyscrapers and other buildings that meant that this land didn't show signs of running low on funds. They buildings also looked like they were built to last a long time as well. Steam could also be seen coming from workshops and factories. (Think of a steampunk Gotham mixed with New York in the 20s .)

 

As the crowd started to get louder a gap started to form till it split in half. Soon one pony could be see walking towards where the king is. He was dressed in a red and black classy business suit with a black overcoat, a black fedora with a red strap. He was also carrying a steel baseball bat that rested on his shoulder. The crowd was being friendly towards the pony and showing him great respect.

 

Sunny quickly ran up next to the king." Your majesty, That's the head Don." She was able to tell him before he reached a few of the kings guards.

@@Gloomfury, The children cheered, and the governesses smiled back and nodded in respect before settling the children down and getting them prepared for dinner. "Oh it's always a little nuts with the little ones. They become much less difficult when their patriotism kicks in. I've never known one who didn't at one point strive to be in the guard at one point of another. They can be seen marching alongside them on their way to school like clockwork. Anyways, thank you so much for doing this, the children really appreciate it." she said.

 

The Nightingale stopped in Abendstern to pick up more guards, some carts and a few other things that would be brought with them to Quinacta. They continued on their way and they set down a good ways outside of the Quinatan border in Pegasonia. The Kaiser along with a hundred guards, loaded up the carts, and made their way to the border. When they came into view of civilization, they lit a barrel or gunpowder and several fireworks to announce themselves.

(Walking with a baseball bat... Towards a king...)

 

When the pony approached with the baseball bat, two guards crossed theyre rifles, blocking his path.

"One must not approach his majesty armed" one of them said.

 

The king lifted and lowered his hoof in a 'stand down' matter and the guards obeayed, clearing the way.

 

"So, it is you who invited me here, i understand?"

 

 

"Certainly"

 

In a few minutes the diplomats were escorted to an airship. It was about 40m long and the hull was 9m tall and 6m wide. It was wooden and armed with 38 cannons. 2 on the bow and 18 on the broadside. It had a crew of 200 and a large metal exhaust from the steam engine that fed in the baloon. It had a metal figurehead of a harpy and the railing was decorated with painted curves. A unicorn in a captain uniform approached. Above it was a huge baloon, about twice the size of the ship.

"This is captain Seaburn, he will be escorting you." The duke stated as he retreated from the airship.

 

The captain lifted his hat in a sign of respect and stated:

"Honored."

 

He then turned to the crew.

"Come on boys, were going home!"

 

The noisy steam engine started pumping steam in the baloon causing the airship to rise. A propeller at the back of the ship started spinning, causing the ship to advance.

"Not a problem, ma'am. And that;s pretty interesting. Back home most of the beings there strive to become strong and independent in themselves. Cause we think if we're not strong for ourselves, how can we be strong enough for our home."

 

 Flits then got started on the cookies, but not after helping out the governess.

The head Don respectfully took off his hat and gave the king a light bow. "That is right your majesty. And welcome to Quinacta. I'm sorry, but the other dons wont be joining us. They aren't very good when it comes to face to face interactions. They lack... finesse." He chuckled. Sunny then walked over to the Dons side.  He gave her a smile and hoofed her his bat. "Take care of that would ya Sun'?" She smiled and nod.

 

"Right away Don Semi." She then flew off.

 

The head Don then gave the king his full attention. "Sorry about the bat, old habits die hard." He then stepped to the said and old a hoof out for the king to walk with him. "Now. Shall we get to business?" He said with a smirk.

 

 

  

 

Just then the sound of fireworks could be heard not to far away.  The head Don gave a bigger smirk as he looked towards the king. "Looks like our other guest has just arrived." He called over another Pegasus and told him to fly over towards where the fireworks were coming from to guide the Kaiser to the Dons meeting room. The Pegasus nod and took off.

"Our nation has many crafting and someways: "Ingenious" ponies. We work hard and use our persisteness and decline of giving up and use teamwork to survive. We do everything we can, to survive. So I suppose its about willing and wanting as well." other guard answered to him/her with shrug. But as he realized that he/she spoke of unicorns and magic, about other race than Earth Ponies, he got someways excited and asked:

 

"Wait... You talked about magic and unicorns... Is there any unicorns in yours nation?" guard asked.

Hommit greeted the duke back at the palace "I hope you are not surprised at the negative response to your presence in the last few days" he said looking out the window "it probably would have helped your public image if you had decided to participate in Rollendox, I dont believe I saw you during the entire 3 day festival"

The diplomats were glued to the portholes, watching the land beneath them fly past with a look of wonder on their faces. It was one thing to hear about a flying ship, but it was another thing entirely to experience it first hoof. Still, they were trained professionals, and they quickly got ahold of themselves. They replaced their looks of wonder with looks of mild curiosity, and took their seats. Peaceful Solution tried to use his magical senses to discover the magical enchantment that powered the flying ship, but to no avail. He reasoned that the enchantments had been hidden, to keep them secret.

Silver Gleam merely smiled, and removed the silly hat that had been concealing his horn. "I myself am a Unicorn, and many of the ponies in my nation are also unicorns."

"I was very busy with all that paperwork i was assigned to solve, i barely had time for anything." The duke answered, "and i think i have an idea why im not very welcome around here."

 

5 of the seven policemen entered the shrine, the priest and the two assistants that were seen conjuring magic before the incident were handcuffed, the seargent stepped forward:

 

"You are hereby placed under arrest for causing the murder of," he pulls out a list, "Matilda Sparks, mare aged 23, Samuel Sparks, filly aged 7, Bonnie Aberdeen, mare aged 78, Jackson Swirls, stallion aged 35..." The list went on containing the names of 25 ponies, "how do you plead?"

 

The happening at the church didnt go unoticed and all the tolerance campaigns were immidiately stopped. At 5pm that day all churches started ringing their bells. The entire city stopped, factories, trams, pedestrians, all stopped in their track to show respect to the deceased. Down the main road of the city a convoy of priests and monks walked. In front were 3 priests, one holding a giant golden cross while the others held the perfume ( smelly church thing rhey use at funerals) behing them walked 150 monks carring 25 coffins, 6 monks per coffin. Behind them walked the mourning relatives of the dead. Except for the bells, the city was dead silent. Even if a Cidonian would ask a Ponssian something, he/she would not reply and continue praying for the souls of the dead. The whole thing was going to last an hour, until the bodies were to be buried.

 

 

(There are no portholes =p)

 

The captain walked to the diplomats,

"Until we reach the capital, do you have any questions about our great nation?"

 

In the meantime, it was time for the crew to clear the cannons, they loaded blank shots and fired the cannons. The explosions of ignition roared throughout the ship.

The priest looked angry "I did everything in service to the sun goddess!" Klux who was in the room, wing slapped him "You take her name in vain! you cause saddness and invoke the wraith of the dead in her name?" he slapped him again and then tore his priest outfit off and tore the robes of his assistants, he turned to the guards who arrested him "Jail time is too lenient for this one, he deserves a Cidonian sentence,  is their any stadium around? the proper sentence is to throw him in a manticore pit"

"We will punish him according to the law, the sentence for murder is death. Since he does not plead guilty, he shall be... Persuaded until he confesses and not offered a quick one. Het him."

 

Two policemen handcuff him and throw him in the carriage waiting outside. The sergeant then asks the two assistants which also helped with the 'unblessing', "How do you plead?"

 The assistants, suprisingly for a Cidonian unicorn answered normally "We did as we were told as extensions of our master, however the High Priest has forsaken us, clearly we were not in service of the sun goddess Lixin, we ask to also be thrown to the manticores"

 

"I am curious to hear your theory" Hommit said to the duke
