Was it her home or the local library? did she leave her parents behind? did she even live with them to begin with or was she just at the school of gifted unicorns and only came home for the summer. Quite a claim, right? I'd better have some evidence to back it up. OK, here she is in The Cutie Mark Chronicles before she has been admitted into Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. The scene takes place at night, so is unlikely to be in a public library. More likely a room in her parents' house... Now, take a look at this scene from Friendship is Magic, Part 1... Look at the shape of the shelves, and the position of the ladder. There's a window which is quite obvious in the second image, but if you look closely at the first image, you'll see the same window is there too. It's the same room! So Twilight lived with her parents in a house that had a tower containing an extensive library. No wonder she turned out how she did! I can see why you'd think that since, in EP 23 (The Cutie Mark) different scenes show that same building from both the outside and the inside, showing a large classroom or lecture hall on the inside.
