I know AEW has Muppets but do they have ponies, too? :dash:

And a lot has happened over the weekend for NJPW.

  1. NJPW is coming back to the US for 'WM weekend. Death Vegas invitacional,  the death match card hosted by El Despy. And the first night of the G1 Climax will be returning to the US for the first time since 2019. And it'll be at the NOW arena outside Chicago. I was there for the first time. Tickets willing, I'll be there for the second.
  2. Y'all need to go watch the main event of New Years Dash between Tag League winner, TMDK's Zack Sabre Jr. and Ryohei Oiwa against the tag champs, Bullet Club's Bullet Thug, Yuto Ice and the Giant German, Oskar Leube, the Knock Out Bros. There's a reason why WWE offered the latter a pair of contracts. This match is also important, as it is the final ever match for the BC.
  3. And the guns have fallen silent. After nearly 13 years, four splinter groups and 70 different members, the Bullet Club are no more. After the final incarnation of BC: War Dogs formed an alliance with the remaining members of another dissolved group, Los Ignobernables de Japon, it has been decided by all involved to form a new stable in NJPW. Yuto ICE, Oskar Leube, Gabe Kidd, Robbie X, Taiji Ishimori, Drilla Maloney, Clark Connors, Gedo, Hiromu Takehashi, Shingo Takagi and new champion Yota Tsuji are all forming the NJPW super group, Unbound Co. fusing the militaristic leanings of the War Dogs with the rebel attitudes of LIJ. NJPW's two oldest surviving groups now merge into a new behemoth.
  4. Speaking of Tsuji, the man with the gorgeous hair and sinister smile has retired the World championship. In its place, he has restored the IWGP Heavyweight championship, bringing back the beloved V4 title belt, the modern big gold, and restoring its 40 years of history, with all past world champs now being retroactively recognized in an unbroken line. The belt will be exclusive to NJPW events, while Tsuji's other title, the Global title, will be defended abroad like the IWGP IC title used to be.
  5. And in other news, Shota Umino is failing to get over. One of the proclaimed 'Reiwa Three Musketeers' in the vein of Mutoh, Chono and Hashimoto, the son of senior referee Red Shoes Umino has the talent and the look, but not the charisma or the authenticity. He looks like he clocked into work after three hours of sleep and two cans of red bull. He received boos when trying to challenge the winners of the tag match, getting called a nepo baby by his opponents. Poor guy needs another excursion.
