Birthday Pony OC Plushie!

Happy Birthday, @@SFyr!

 

 

I'm getting a lot more confident in my plushies, which is nice. This is a birthday present for a member here who is my favorite person IRL 

The plushie is of his OC, Camilla. She is a very hairy pony which doesn't translate easily into plush. She is also a bat-pony, which has wings from hell. Most likely, 50% of her construction time was spent on those wings. 

So much hair, but I'm in love with her tail. So poofy and soft 

 

 

 

I'm honestly starting to think about trying to start a commission shop, but I'm not sure if the craft is really well suited to that or is there really is a demand for anything that runs a little higher in the price range here. It takes me at least 3 weeks (+ waiting for fabric and other notions) to do a pony, and I have no idea of what price point these things go for. Any advice on that would be greatly appreciated

All I can give is luck if you decide to go forth with that idea... In other thoughts though. You made that? AWESOME!!! I wish I had a talent like that, I'd make a pony army of all the characters in the show (Because I have no life, I'd get them all done pretty quick too!) And happy birthday to the lucky person getting it.

This is just a beautiful plush of Camilla, and I'll treasure it so long as it's in my possession.   Think it'll hold a permanent place next to my computer from tomorrow on, haha. Thank you so much sweetie for putting in all the time and effort you have over the past several weeks to make this. ♥ I appreciate it more than is probably obvious.

For all interested in what she had to work with, this was the original character reference:

 

 

We both looked for other plushies with a similar style of mane/tail, and well... we could find little to none, so the amount of customization this represents is impressive in my own opinion, and I agree that it's a hard thing to translate.   But, the result speaks for itself (or herself), and dang.

Don't mean to overpost here! 

 

Sfyr has my old version of Camilla at his dorm and we managed to take a crappy picture comparing the two.

 

The progress really is pretty impressive. Camilla v1 was made maybe 16 months before Camilla v2, with a large hiatus in between.

 

Artists can improve, there is hope!
