Square Enix has been teasing a few games the last couple weeks and this was one of them. It will be developed for PS3 and PS4 so anyone who was worried that tri-Ace being bought out by a company known for making mobile games can rest at ease...at least for now.

 

It's about time this series made a comeback. A lot of people thought that E3 2011 tech demo from a few years ago was going to be SO5 but it turned out not to be...but maybe it was?

It is really annoying that Square is still doing the whole 'Japanese consoles only' thing with some of their games. There was at least one Star Ocean game on the 360 but of course they don't consider any of that now. That irritates me. Sadly I cannot be excited for this because of that. That sucks too because I would like to have more JRPG's this gen and Star Ocean is one I have not played much.

I liked Star Ocean games. I hope this new one is good when it ends up being released. Maybe I'll get it and play it on another person's PS4.

I remember a Star Ocean game coming out a few years ago on the 360. I don't know if that even came out for PS3 and i haven't tried any of the games in this series yet. It looks interesting, i'll get it sometime.

A bunch of screenshots were also released. The game is gorgeous and I like how some of them make it seem like battle could occur anywhere, not just in the field.
