I find it disconcerting Slight is  practicing with water, specifically what Lektra doesn't like. Kind of indirect OOC knowledge abuse.

She doesn't know a thing about Lektra's weakness to water; she's just trying to get stronger so she can put one over on Ice Blizzard. I don't think there's a better way to do that than focusing on one of your main talents.

Eh, maybe she won't be as outmatched as you think she would then.

Er, maybe. Just like normal people... ponies, she's unlikely to use her new skills unless she's in a pinch, and certainly not right off the bat. If you get the edge, you may win regardless.

 

I feel the need to mention, though, that even before this, 4/5 of her main abilities involved water, and she had the ability to cover an entire field in a thick mist outlined in her character sheet. Just saying, this is hardly a new precedent.

juuuuust guessing.

I'd love to do that, but Sleight Mist does have limits. She can create water (ala the mist spell), but that's something that takes so much power that it drains her. The same as the explosive spell that she uses, she can't do it more than once or twice before passing out, so its a decisive move.

 

Without that, she's pretty much stuck to manipulating the stuff that already exists, in the atmosphere or otherwise. She'd have to be in Shang Tsung's garden again to have enough water for skills that extravagant.
