I don't think that's a good idea. A generous imagination on how much gold is there might end up with me faring worse than if I was in the reactor core.

It needs to be a place with accessible metal, but also a place that's humid or has a small water source. Like:

 

I'm thinking an underground cave arena, with train tracks running through the center of it.

Or anything with a little of both metal and water.

So I found 2 places with a lot of both metal and water.

Mushroom Bridge (Metal= Bridge, Water= Water ) :

Or Sunshine Airport (Metal=Planes, Water= Water ) :

Maybe something like this, minus the hazards, of course:

In the first few seconds, you get a pretty good layout of the ground floor. Also, although you can't see it, there's waterfalls falling off the sides just a little distance outside. 

 

Although personally, I prefer the second cave system at 5:05, because it's roughly the same, but from what you can see at 6:25, it's also multi-layered, so more room to fight.
