gaming Could use some advice from some Monster Hunter players.

Well, the other day I got Monster Hunter 4. This is my fir MH game so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect going in to it.

I had been spending a while making different armor pieces until I realized it isn't about having a better defense, but building skills off of them. Since then I have been incredibly overwhelmed. All I have right now is a Jaggi set. What happens is I begin working on a set that I think will help me a lot until WOAH I find an even better set. So I start working towards that, only to find one even better.

I'm a lot more stressed out than I should be on this and it's keeping me from enjoying the game. Obviously it's just trying to give you a lot of things to work with, but how can you determine what to put your time and resources in to making when you so many different things are becoming available to me.

I'm not even sure If I'm making sense here, but it would be a lot of help if someone could help ease my mind. I tend to overthink things.

I stopped watching the show a while ago...

! Yep! You're exactly right! It's all about those skills! :grin2:

Generally a lot of the skills on certain sets are optimised for specific monsters and weapon types.

Really, there is no "best weapon" for every monster at once. So likewise with armour sets too.

At Low rank, there pretty much isn't really many great sets out there. There isn't really much need at the moment, but what I did at that point was find a strongish monster that I was able to handle at that level and forge its equipment. Once you get towards High/G-rank then the skills become even more important, and many people start making "mixed sets" which overlap skills.

Myself, I prefer stuff with:

- Critical Eye

- Evasion

- Atk +

- Earplugs

- Etc.

;) Just don't worry about it much, the skills don't play as an important role as later on. You should just consider them some neat bonuses!
