Help me figure out hair for my OC?

Ughhhh I have this great OC in development but I need some help.

 

For a little background, he is very very mysterious and mischievous. However he has a kind heart and only wants to do good, he just seems to mess up a little too often.

 

He likes to mess with voodoo magic, but since he is young and taking it on from his mother who moved on to travel the world, he doesn't quite get the hang of it but man, is he excited about it!

 

 

Any mane and tail ideas? I'm completely stumped.

 

I also don't have a name or cutie mark but I'm sure I can get that.

For mischievous, I imagine something messy. Probably something short, but yeah, messy.

Short and spiked like Vinyl Scratch, but PLATINUM white mane/tail. Maybe a dark color for the coat to contrast with the white mane/tail. Like black or midnight blue for the coat?

Mumbo Jumbo would be a fun and nostalgic name to go with if you were into Banjo Kazooie at all.

I would picture that pony with something like this, but maybe a little longer and a bit more wispy in areas.  Perhaps flowing down the right cheek, visible below the jaw, with the mane very similar and symmetrical, but not as neat as the style in this pic.

Still seems a little too neat to me.  Maybe some beaded braids here and there ala johnny depp in Pirates of the Caribbean.  Same would go for the tail.

I was thinking this color combo! I really want his body dark, probably grey/black or a dark green. I love the idea of a white mane, only issue is then won't it blend too much with the skull on his head gah I'll have to test it!

Oh thank you so much! I was having trouble finding where to place this and now I know! And that name is hilarious, but I don't know Banjo Kazooie at all!

Thats actually a really interesting concept, so like shorter hair that gets longer by the jaw and face! Thanks! I put some beads on my pirate (as a JD reference!) but a voodoo pony could definitely sport them. I'll try them out!

Does the skull have to be white/grey? A shiny black skull, like obsideon would look cool. Also, most skulls are light grey, so maybe even that would work.

It's funny you say that because I was thinking an obsidian skull. The only problem with that is if his body is too dark the skull will blend and since it's an important accent to his character I don't want that. And true, having the skull offwhite or grey will fix any issues of matching the hair.

 

Maybe even black skull/grey body/white hair

 

The feathers I believe I want to be random colors.
