Any headcanon on Starswirl becoming Discord?

Another thing that started to bother me.

Discord is the Spirit of Chaos. But look at his demention. Pure Chaos, right? Except one "island". The one where his house stands. And house is very similar to ones that ponies live in. Is it possible that he subconsciously tries to preserve the design of place where he used to live long time ago?

Once again, did you even read my first post?  My theory is that he traveled back first, and then became Discord, after which the timelines of the two could overlap without either of them knowing the other.  That accounts for Discord being around long before Star Swirl, and Star Swirl being present while Discord was turned to stone.  Basically the chronological events could go like this:

1. Star Swirl appears in the distant past.
2. Star Swirl becomes Discord.
3. A lot of time passes.
4. Star Swirl is born.
5. Star Swirl becomes a great wizard.
6. Discord is turned to stone.
7. Star Swirl makes the jump back to #1.

So once again, you still haven't provided something that specifically disproves it.

 

I think the problem here is that you think I'm trying to prove it's true; I'm not.  All I'm trying to prove is that the possibility exists.  You, on the other hand, are claiming that it can't exist, which requires concrete proof.

I see so you are saying that he 

1. somehow time travel into distant past and stuck there

2. something convoluted happened and he turned into immortal Discord the spirit of chaos

3. when he catch up with the times he met himself as Celestia teacher and friend but somehow couldn't rememeber a thing

4. got himself turned to stone and created a time paradox where basically 2 Starswirl existed in that same universe until present Starswirl didn't time jump leaving him as the only Starswirl imprisoned in stone

 

I think the most flawed part is that he magically forgot his past and re-lived his life as Discord along with college (which imply him being younger and becoming mature) but even then you could say that whatever turned him into draconequus also turned him into a baby daconequus and even say that someone adopted him and basically create infinfite assumptions until Starswirl/Discord theory will be bulletproof. Heck, even if Starswirl going to appear in the present series and stand next to Discord in this season you can always say that he just time travel to the future(season 5) times before he got lost in distant past and become Discord.

You basically made this theory impossible to disprove like existence of God. So i have no chance to disprove this theory with any evidence. I can only offer what i already said about basic story timeline and Meghan McCarthy tweet where she said that Discord is not Starswirl after Keep Calm and Flutter On premiered

I think my real point is that I'm just explaining a way it could happen that fits with the already-established canon of the series.  Besides, until they state for sure one way or another, we obviously won't know for sure.

 

And no, that tweet doesn't count, because it's not canon until it appears in an episode.  Example: Lauren Faust wasn't intending Twilight to become a princess, but that decision was made later by someone else.  If one of the writers decide later that Star Swirl is Discord, or decides to reveal a different origin for Discord, then we'll know.

 

Seriously, lighten up and don't be so gung-ho trying to disprove something that's just a harmless theory.  It's all in good fun.

The transformation of Starswirl into Discord because of Magical Mystery Cure spell is, actually, possible, since it did lead to transformation of Twilight. Starswirl lacked a knowledge about friendship, so may be he accidentally finished some testing version of that spell with wrong words, which transformed him into Discord.

Oh, and once again. What happened when Twilight used unfinished version of the spell? She altered her friends' destinies, messed up their mind, which can be considered as Chaos magic.

 

And what about memory loss? Lots of time spent alone WILL make you insane, forgetting who you are and where did you come from. And college? It's probably one of Discord's lies, who can tell? It's Discord, after all...

I'm just pointing out that this theory was valid between S2 and S3. Now is just kept alive artificially and OP should save himself from getting into that headcanon
