Is the power that Shining Armor and Cadence used weaker than the EoH?

So remember when Shining Armor and Cadence used some bonding power to blast Chrysalis and all her minions away? Was that just a semi-Friendship power blast? Is this saying love is weaker than Friendship? Because then why didn't Shining Armor and Cadence just blast Tirek away? Shining Armor was right beside the door to the throne room where Cadence and the other alicorns were at.

I have thought about this before. You can have more than one good friends but you only have one person that you love. Love should be more powerful than the magic of friendship but that would make the Mane 6 useless because the royal couple is more powerful than them and this show is about Twi and her friends, not Cadence and Shining.

The people working on this show really overlook things like these, don't they?

I really don't think love should be more powerful than friendship. It's just two different types of bonds, one isn't necessarily more important than the other.

Also, the mane six's friendhip power was being channeled through the elements, probably increasing their abilities. While Shining and Cadance's love was only being channeled through their own magic. The elements of harmony are more powerful because of something like that most likely.

I was thinking that but the mane six was able to use the power of the Elements of Harmony even when they didn't have their jewels like in Equestria Girls and on Tirek. And this was even when they had zero magic power.

Cadance and Shining could use their power without the elements though. So, it makes sense the mane six can still do it without them, it's just probably not as powerful without the elements. Any strong bond in Equestria seems to have some form of power to it.

And against Tirek, their power only activated after they opened the chest, so whatever magic inside acted like the jewels of the elements and powered them up.

I would think so. The EoH are artifacts of purely concentrated magic straight from the Tree of Harmony, (which is basically a magical well) and were described as "the most powerful force known to ponydom." in the opening narration of the first episode. Even without the elements, the Tree was able to repel the plunder vines for over 1000 years, which should prove just how powerful it it.

Love is powerful yes, but in this case it merely served to magnify Shining's magic enough to repel the changelings.

The magic used in ACW was the shield spell Shining Armor was using before to keep the changelings out, just supercharged with Cadence's love/alicorn magic.

The Elements of Harmony's power came from the Tree of Harmony, the same power that could completely overpower the magical power of every earth pony, unicorn, pegasus, alicorn, and draconequus in Equestria. Since Shining Armor and Cadence's magic would be just part of that big pool of magic, we could definitely say that the spell used at the end of ACW is still weaker in power than the EoH.

In addition to Basement's explanation against Tirek, in the Equestria Girls world the magic of the Elements can work differently. Sunset was able to use the crown's magic independently of the other Elements, and when she blasted Twilight and the other 5's human counterparts, they just wound up taking that magic back.

Possibly and I am inclined to say yes, but hard to say considering access to the EOH's was cut off during A Canterlot Wedding after a certain point, and Rainbow Power and the EOH's are only able to work under certain condtions.
