@@Reaver,

"Wait, what? No, I'm not a police pony!" replied Spellbind dumbfounded. She didn't move towards the pony because that would probably not help the odd case. "I'm pretty sure you are allowed in the forest. Why wouldn't we be?" she said. "I don't know the entirety of what's in here though."

Aspen headed back for the tent.  He thought that the other ponies would still be asleep, or at least just waking up, but they all had already gone.

"Huh, must be early risers." he thought

The sun had risen fully above the ocean's horizon, and light washed over everything.  Other ponies had already left the tents as well, and the makeshift camp was a bustle again.

"Everypony looks so happy!"  he thought, "and will probably be happier when we have some permanent buildings down."

Aspen tried to picture how the town would look in a few years.  Some of the jungle would be cleared out, as permanent could be built on sand.  And after that, towns would pop up everywhere on the island.  The idea made Aspen so excited.

"This will be a huge community of ponies, and it started with us, the settlers."

He looked around at the other ponies.  There was a family in the tent behind them; a stallion, mare, and two fillies.  Three stallions were sharing a tent to the left of them, and to the right an old mare and her two stallion fillies.  They may not realize it now, but they are going to be founding fathers and mothers two this land.  Their grandchildren will be able to say that they came from the great founders of the island.  The thought gave Aspen a sense of pride.  Turning, he saw Star Blitz and Peregrine walking towards him, and he waved.

Blitz used magic to wash out some of the pots. One cook informed her to go enjoy herself, this was the cook's job, after all. She decided she did want to get back to the tent and say good morning to Glider and feed Socks, though he'd probably caught something already.

"Would you like a transparent polish? Something sparkling, or something colored? I hear that painting one's hooves the color of one's mane was all the rage in Canterlot just before we set sail."

(I'm going to say they're trotting back towards the tent, because that way Aspen's post will work out.)

"Transparent will do just fine. I just want a little trim-up. It's been so long since I've been groomed," Blitz said, trotting alongside Peregrine in the direction of the tent. She was levitating her bowl behind her, and had insisted on carrying some of the bowls for the others so Peregrine wouldn't have to.

Turning, he saw Star Blitz and Peregrine walking towards him, and he waved.

She saw Aspen ahead, and he noticed them shortly after. He waved at them. "It's Aspen," she said, smiling, trotting a little faster to get to him.

She reached him, still levitating the five bowls-- one for each pony and one for Socks-- behind her. "Hello," she greeted, "I hope you haven't eaten, because Peregrine and I got you something. How was that meeting?"

@@Littlecandylulu903,

"Oh, okay," Glider said, breathing a sigh of relief. "I... um, sorry for reacting like that. It's really a nice forest--I've barely ever gone into one before," she added, "because I grew up in big cities that were booming like Manehattan and Canterlot. Er, what's your name? I'm Glider." She shuffled her wings awkwardly.

Ever Sharp approached the group of ponies cautiously, not really wanting to intrude.

"Sorry to interrupt, but seems as though you're in charge around here, more or less. Just thought I'd ask about what we're going to do with them supplies that have been left on the beach. It'll put us in a real spot if some of this stuff isn't moved, and gets washed away in a storm."

He paused, thinking for a moment.

"I was going to suggest that we move it further inland. The trees at the edge of that jungle may provide some protection from the elements. 'Course, it ain't really my place to ask."

Spellbind put her hoof in the air, seeming to be gesturing excitedly, and Glider smiled. She liked cheerful ponies--they made her feel cheerful. "Okay!" she agreed happily. Blitz smiled. "I think I speak for the both of us when I say it's our pleasure to help out a friend," she said generously. She listened intently when Aspen mentioned tracks.

"Tracks, hm..? Where were they found? I'd like to see them, if possible. Do you know if any pony is sending out some sort of tracking team?? She asked.

@@ForthEorl,

She blinked as a pony approached the group, cutting off any more questions she had. Every pony seemed to know Aspen, she marveled. She listened to the newcomer's words in silence. Moving might be a good idea, but it would be hard to move a campsite of thousands of ponies. She let Aspen  be the one to respond, however, curious to see how he would respond.

"It looks like it's been a while since it's been here," Glider noted. "The dirt's hardened and all. Maybe it rained or something since it's been here. Oh, here's a few more tracks!" she said brightly. "It might be some kind of weird pegasus or something, and you're right, and it did fly away. Or maybe it's not four-legged at all, and it's some kind of one-legged... um... alien, or something." She giggled at the idea, then frowned, abruptly trying to envision it and finding the image appalling.

"Tracks on an island eh? Were they fresh?" asked Peregrine. "Also, don't sweat the breakfast." Then some new pony approached and began talking with Aspen. She listened idly, not really caring for the nitty gritty details before she gently prodded Blitz with her wing. "Come on, your hooves and my tools have an appointment."

"Anyhow, I'd be glad to get some ponies together to move those things. Just need to figure out where to move them."

"Nice to meet you Ever Sharp!  Thanks for taking the initiative to ask about it."

"I guess there's a pretty big clearing a little ways into the jungle...but I'm not sure whether it will be big enough."

Aspen looked at the giant pile of rolled up tents, crates, bags of food, and other pieces of assorted junk.  At the moment, it was just stacked and covered under a ratty tarp.  It definitely could be washed away by a storm.

Aspen found a group of ponies chatting around a fire.  One of them noticed Aspen.

"Aspen?  Is that you?"

Aspen brightened "Stormy?  Is that you?"

Stormy Vale jumped up and gave Aspen a hug.  "How's it going?  You getting along alright?"

Aspen nodded.  "And you?"

He laughed.  "No offense, but I'm just glad to get off that boat.  As much as I appreciated our time together on the ocean, I was about to try to go swim with the sea ponies."

"I can relate to that," said Aspen.  Then he remembered what he was doing.  "Oh, yeah, this is Ever Sharp.  We were going to move some of the supplies to a clearing in the jungle.  Would you want to help?"

"Sure," said Stormy.  He looked at the other ponies.  "Would any of you want to help?"  A few of them nodded, and stood up.

Aspen turned to Ever.  "Well, looks like we got our team."

"Well, looks like we got our team."

"Excellent. You work damned fast, don't you? I suggest that we move the food and water first. Essentials, and all that."

Sharp turned to the group of ponies that had be 'recruited'. There were enough of them to start moving the lighter stuff, but more would be needed to move the heavier supplies.

"All right then, you lot! Let's start with those barrels of water over there. Look lively now!"

He returned to Aspen.

"I can probably manage this lot from here. Oh, and thanks for the help, mate. I'll come find you later, tell you how we're doing. I'll let you get back to those other ponies I saw you with earlier."

Grinning, Sharp cantered towards the ponies, who were slowly trying to shift the heavy barrels.

"You there! Lift with your legs, not your back! Eh? What do you mean you don't get how that would work?"
