Tobacco appearantly kills more people than war

I think often times these things are a playing of statistics, having done a lot of analytical statistics before you can in a way make it say whatever suits your narrative. Reality is that smoking is by no means healthy, but at the same time it is very hard to actually claim that it necessarily killed that person. Mainly as there are so many other variables, I know many old people who have smoked their entire lives and continue to do so while being perfectly happy I also know a close relative that has gotten cancer because of it. Though to claim that it was just smoking is a bit far fetched, first of all life expectancy has gotten way better as such we live far longer then we did. Secondly a lot of people live different lifestyles today that could contribute to it also with all these varying factors can you truly claim that it was the smoking when really there are just a lot of people who have smoked or are smoking as such you could make the same claim by that logic that using your phone kills you because who's to say that you using your phone didn't cause you a tumor and how would you even go about proving it wasn't? Reality is you can't and statistics as well as their analysis is a lot about trying to tie the dots to make an argument that doesn't mean that it is necessarily true.

However nobody would ever claim that it is healthy for you, especially as you can see how peoples lungs are from it. Yet said person may have worked in a coal mine, they might have been a construction worker that breathed in certain materials or maybe an automotive painter. Or maybe today we simply have the know how and the technology to actually identity these health issues before they kill you. Indeed best example of this would be a cancer in the colon cancer you have wide variety of variables. You could claim it was caused by poor diet and of course you'll find a connection simply because we all have a poor diet nowadays. You could say it is all the sitting, again you would find a correlation or maybe it is simply the fact that we know how to find it today. Reality is our life expectancy has been doubling every so often and mainly it is because of preventative health checks so reality is simple you have data, you have statistical analysis and of course many, many variables and correlation that does not mean however that you truly have an answer and that's simple truth of it.

I say all of this simply because I care about analytical data and its use been well known that you can't really claim that this one thing killed them. I could however agree to it possibly having made their lives end faster but the true killer is hard to actually figure out. Lungs are more resilient then people give them credit for more likely is the fact that there are mix of chemicals at play while also modern livestyles and diet including also different working conditions. I'm not refuting anything to be fair though, simply saying that data analysis can often have multiple stories to tell simply depending on the analysts story telling.
