I am not being condescending as usual either. I legitimately dont know. I see a crap tonne of artwork for it though and it has its own page on KYM, but I never read it. But it has to be a fairly big deal, right?

I honestly am still not 100% sure if it is a game... So is it? What is it about? Just explain in general what it is about I guess. If your a fan or not.

The Fire Emblem series is a tactical RPG series where you raise an army and fight an opposing army, whatever the story in said game is varies from game to game in the series. Some games are connected to other titles, some are not. The Fire Emblem series has been popular in Japan since the NES era but took much much longer to catch on in the US for the simple fact that they didn't actually start releasing Fire Emblem games in the US until around the Gamecube era. The most popular Fire Emblem game in the US is the most recent title Fire Emblem Awakening which is also one of the most popular in Japan though it is hard to say what the most popular there is. Fire Emblem If or Fire Emblem Fates as it will be known as in the US is one of the most anticipated upcoming video game titles due to its long standing popularity in Japan and recent popularity in the west.

To add on to what Podigy said, Fire Emblem has tons of characters that you collect over the course of the game, to use in combat. You can marry them together to boost their performance in combat, which makes it a shipper's dream game. In the latest game, Awakening, you make your own character with which you can marry your waifu. I think this is why there is so much fan art floating around of Fire Emblem since Awakening came out.

I'm a big fan of the games. The newest one already exists, but it's going to take them months to translate it from Japanese : s

The character marrying/pairings as well as stat boosts and team ups of certain characters has been a staple of the series for quite a while so this series being a shippers dream is quite accurate, but the custom creation of your own avatar as the main character is something new. Another new feature that will be in Fire Emblem Fates though will also be the option of gay marriage as well as two characters who are confirmed to be bisexual.

Japanese to be precise but it is a video game series though there is no question that there is an anime influence to the art style.
