so hi guys i'm thinking of doing some small things to my 99' Toyota Solara *camry* v6 3.0L small things like lowered springs or coilovers, new rims, new exhaust, and maybe boosting it to 250 to 265 with a turbo, now its an auto not a stick is it worth seeing it as it has 206K miles or just sell it and get something better? its a daily driver

The S2000 is gr9. However, an NA or NB Miata is quite a bit less expensive to buy and own. A good NB can be had for ~$10,000, while the average price for an S2000 is closer $18,000. Still very much would want an S2000 though.

Also, a good way to piss off an S2000 owner is to walk up to him next to his car and say "nice Miata bro". They get mad every time.

Here's my two cents on the matter-get a vintage JDM hatch if you need to haul instruments. 240SX, Celica, Supra, 300ZX, Accord, Civic, 280ZX, 200SX, Starion, AE86, Corolla FX-16, the Civic Wagovan, RX-7, all are relatively sporty cars that will give you instant baller status at any car meet if done right. I'm talking the pre-1988 designs here after that these cars went in all directions, from near supercar for some models to boring econobox for others. My buddy played electric guitar and needed to haul amps to gigs, he had an '84 300ZX for a little over a year, worked great for him and would have continued to work great except he wrecked it being stupid. If you need to haul stuff and still want to look cool, hatches are the way to go.

You could upgrade the Solara, and I'd give you bonus points for being unique in a world of "me too" EGs and 'Tegs, but honestly, the only way to get your money back when you were done with it would be to part it out. You should probably look into something new if you don't particularly like the Solara, but if you're attached to it, go ahead and make it yours!
