gaming Best Minecraft mods?

I want some mods for mc because all mine became outdated because I haven't played for a while. I would prefer if they were easy to install.

Stuff that would interest me:

Some sort of town thing so I don't feel lonely

Some new mobs

A good scp mod (The only one I know of I don't know if it was updated)

 

What I could care less for:

Vehicles

Guns

Hud crap (Unless it is required to make a mod better)

Honestly I would highly recommend modpacks if your computer can handle them. Just get FTB launcher or ATLauncher and then select any of the modpacks you'd like. Not sure if these are up your alley, but here are some of my personal favorite mods (some of them add additional mobs, thaumcraft even adds an additional dimension):

 

-Thaumcraft -- Very fun magic mod, has a lot of immersion

-Thaumic Tinkerer -- Addon for thaumcraft, basically adds a lot of cool stuff and an actual endgame

- Applied Energistics 2 -- Fairly complex mod, however it basically allows you to store all of your items on disks. Also adds an autocrafting system, where you can set the system up to autocraft items.

- Thermal Expansion -- Adds a lot of very nice machines for doubling ores and such.

- Draconic Evolution -- Adds many things, however quite a bit of this mod is controversial because it is seen as overpowered, still fun imo

 

All of these are included in the Infinity pack on the FTB launcher, which is my personal favorite pack.

 

Also, playing with modpacks on a server is usually a lot of fun.

The ones I know mostly go with Mobs.

Mo's Creatures is one I had sooooo many hours of fun with alone. I probably spent at least 100 hours on horse breeding/stable building alone. Not to mention all the monsters and such. It was always so fun, and still is ^^

 

Dragon mounts is great as well. Once you defeat the enderdragon and get it's egg, you can hatch a dragon to fly around on. Depending on how/where you hatch it, it can also become different colors as well. (Note this one isn't updated to 1.8 and is WIP)

Galacticraft is really fun, especially if you download the Moonquest mod pack
