You'd probably have better luck selling to a collector than an actual player.

 

I've got an old price guide stuck in a box somewhere that told what their theoretical values were but really they are only worth what someone will give you for them.

If you have time, this video is worth watching about the value of old Pokemon cards.

If not, basically: most of your old cards are most likely worthless to both collectors or players. Unless you have very rare cards/rarer cards in mint condition/pokemon cards still in the mint condition box

Yeah, that's a good video, it really explains a lot.

Most pokemon cards are pretty worthless, not even worth the cardboard they're printed on. It's sad, but true.
