Yes, please do join. If you want to avoid boredom or things slowing down, then you may want to invite a few friends that you know are good role players who do keep things interesting. You've been here much longer than I have

Uh, well you're not really being rushed seeing as the roleplay hasn't even started yet

There's one thing you have to change; your grammar. Now I'd hate to be a jerk, but in the actual RP, I want you to make sure your posts are wholesome and with detail. The paragraph you wrote had both of those things but... You really need to work on grammar. Spelling, sentence structure, no matter how interesting your character is, your grammar will still be distracting and annoying if really bad. Just keep it in mind.

Name: Scarlett Fidelity

While she was in this time she had travelled with pirates, built a near indestructible house and prevented the horrible future of which she came from. All to no avail. She began to see an increase in technology, technology she knew all to well. But then it took a twist, the ponies started to wage wars. She had been spending time in the snowy planes of north Equestria to keep away from it all, though she kept a keen eye on what was going on. On one unfortunate day, the robots turned. In an accident of her own creation, she has seriously injured a large amount of ponies while trying to kill one of the machines. Since then she has wandered around Equestria, keeping away from everypony and everything as best as she could. The suit helped a lot of course. Scarlett was currently in one of the many craters dotted around Equestria, trying to learn more about the machines. she had a few cuts and scratches, nothing that wouldn't heal over time.

Scarlett, due to her accident, has been and still is refraining from using any of her magic around other ponies. She always carries medical supplies in her saddlebag in case she comes across somepony who needs help, though most of the time she wanders invisibly around Equestria. She had been like this for five years, and within the next few years was the year of her birth, not that she would ever be born now. She was a lone wanderer, aimlessly wandering around Equestria. It was almost like she didn't exist.

I will use this in my first post, but my first post will have some extra. How'd I do?

Okay! I'm  gonna set up his story now.

------------------------------------------

During the war before Equestria started production of the war machines(Terminators). He worked as a mercenary for them, mostly for two reasons. One, his father was a member of the royal guard and two, he thought they were doing the right thing. But as Equestria and Twilight kept pushing and bushing to claim more and more territory. His mind started to change till he saw  Equestria as a war hungry country instead of a peaceful one.

So he stopped taking jobs from them and started working against them. He kept at it till they started using machines. But he kept fighting them. He learned how he could use the in environment to stop them. Not really destroying them, but make it where it's hard for them to continue. Digging pits by ticking them and whatnot. He's also picked up being pretty good at handling Buggers with a piste and his club that he now modified with the same metal the Enforcers are made out of.

But when he heard that  the robots went rogue he escaped as far from the war zone as as he could. Lucky for him wen the bombs fell he was at a safe distance.  When things started dying down, he had got word that there were a few survivors in the war torn lands. He made it his mission to help as many survivors as he could. Now he roams the lands, helping anyone he comes across.

----------------------------

Hows that?

This RP seems interesting. I would love to join.

However, my OC (link in my signature) is not a pony or any canon race. Is that going to be an issue?

Edit:

I just added a new character, I am referring to Melke previously.

Well, we have quite a few colorful characters already... So I doubt it'll be a problem. As long as your character is interesting, you make wholesome posts, and make the plot drive forwards, then you can absolutely have this character. Melke's backstory page looks pretty solid, you just have to write a paragraph here about what your character did up to this point. Gloomfury's post is a great example of what to do. It'd be nice if somehow your character made it near Manehattan. That's where most of the story will take place.

There's been a few... exceptions... to the paragraph thing though. All it really is, is testing your abilities. Make sure you read everything, okay? Well, atleast try to. Your OC looks really awesome. For some reason, he reminds me of May Chang from Fullmetal Alchemist with his use of alchemy and all.

Thanks for the compliment on my OC, I have not seen Full Metal Alchemist but I have heard a lot of people singing its praises.

--- OC story ---

Prior to the war, Melke had been studying alchemy from Zecora in the EverFree Forest and he has seemingly inherited her skill in alchemy. Through his advancement in his skill, he is able to temporarily use some of his original powers he had back in his home world.

When the war started, Zecora had left her home to support Equestria but Melke said behind in the EverFree Forest and took a neutral stand to the war and helped only the wounded that he came across while looking and stockpiling alchemy ingredients. He did not care much about the conflict as, to him, it was not a war that he should take part in. However, that changed when the machines were introduced to the war, Melke started facing problems in taking the neutral stand.

The Buggers attacked him and wounded Melke very badly, forcing him above ground where Melke encountered his first Enforcer. Melke got shot and also smacked around badly, and he was forced to use his magic against the robots. He implanted a powerful spirit into a nearby tree and that distracted the enforcer while Melke made a run for it.

After many days of more close calls and injuries, surviving thanks to his stock of brews and savaging weaponry from junk and also using his senses, Melke got a visit from Syo. She wanted to bring Melke out of the Equestria Dimension after finding out what had happened but Melke had seen enough to know that he cannot run from this fight as he owed these ponies for his better life. But Melke knew that he have to get better weaponry and he knows that Syo could do something about it. Syo left for a moment but Melke had to seek shelter as he encountered his first Hawk.

Melke was close to death when Syo came back with his weapon. Syo teleported the Hawk away but it was a bad move as now the robots know about them. Syo made her exchange quick with Melke as it would not be long until more robots show up. She handed him a shield and then opened him a portal to a safer place. Syo wished him luck before leaving as well, back to her home world.

---

I hope that is okay. Syo is a dimension jumper and the one who brought Melke to Equestria in the first place. The shield is a mystical weapon that requires magic to function and it can transform into a bow for offense. The portal Melke entered can bring him to the rp location as its destination is random.

Character Details:

Name: Aurora Veil

Gender: Female

Species: Unicorn

Age: ~21

Physical Description: Currently difficult to say, as not even she has seen herself in quite a while.  She has been using her magic and smarts to pass as a fully-mechanized pony, and thus avoid detection while maintaining her ability to roam. (explained further in 'AoM to Present')

Before AoM:  Prior to the AoM, Plane Sight lived with her family, a traditional group of ponies.  At a young age she showed an inclination towards illusion magic, but little overall strength in her magic.  Rather than allowing this to discourage her, she focused on maximizing effects for minimal efforts.  While still a filly, an official that was working on developing anti-avoidance technologies saw Aurora performing some of her illusions for friends.  The official was so impressed at the quality of her illusions, that he followed her home and offered her parents a 'once-in-a-lifetime chance'.  Considering the potential consequences for refusal, Aurora's parents begrudgingly accepted, and she was sent off to work as a consultant for the development and testing of anti-illusion technology.

While working at the Foundation for Enhancing Anti-illusion and Related Technology (FEAR-T), Aurora showed promise in developing illusion-detection magic and technologies.  Over several years,  she learned from and worked with some of the best illusionists, magic-theorists, and engineers in Equestria. During this time, she worked on various projects, getting more suspicious regarding the path that FEAR-T was going down. Due to these growing suspicions, she began holding some ideas back to utilize on her personal project.  As time passed, some colleagues shared their own suspicions and ideas with her.  She began to spend more time in her personal R&D lab, readying her project, only known as "Prototype", for whatever was to come.  She made sure to present her Prototype as a potential new-form bot, disguising its true capabilities and potential.

When the screams started, she was working on some minor modifications for Prototype prior to its initial testing.  She was just about to go to the door to the lab and see what was going on when Precision, a mentor and friend, all but fell into the room.  Surprised, Aurora quickly noticed that Precision was covered in blood and so moved to aid her fallen friend.  Precision shakily raised a hoof toward Aurora and gasped out one word, "Hide".  Aurora was so shocked, she barely registered her body moving to the one place in the room where she could potentially hide, in her prototype.

Just as Prototype sealed around her, the door to the lab opened again; revealing 3 large Enforcers.  Entering the lab, the enforcers immediately scanned the room; a horrific screeching sound emanated from the 3 large bots in the room, shocking Aurora and preventing her from noticing that her project was slowly going through its boot-processes.  She watched in horror as the Enforcers casually aimed their weapons at her fallen friend and snuffed out that precious life.  She couldn't scream, couldn't move.  All she could do was stare in absolute horror and shock at the once-lively form of her friend; not noticing that the Enforcers were performing another scan of the room; not caring as they all turned and strode from the room.

It took almost an hour for her Prototype to come online, during which she was completely unable to move; only able to silently cry for the loss of her friend and at the cries she heard from beyond the door. Her internal screen flashed UPDATING::UPDATING. She then realized that she hadn't disconnected from her network after working on her latest configurations, and now her prototype was getting pushed an update from the central servers.  She worked quickly, trying to abort the update, but to no avail.  System checks done, reboot, update complete.

Prototype engaged autopilot and began moving towards the door, completely disregarding the efforts and cries of desperation of its passenger.   Aurora focused and began to use her magic and the internal interface to find some override to the new programming that was affecting her systems.  Focused so much on regaining control, she hardly noticed when Prototype was fitted with weapons, the light armor she had helped design, and various sensor arrays.  For the next two days she focused on the code, and trying to regain control; fully aware of everything going on around her.  Fully aware that her Prototype, the thing that she was going to use to keep everyone safe when something bad happened, was now being used to kill and destroy. Finally, she was able to disable the autopilot and control Prototype herself.  Mentally and physically exhausted, she found a secluded area to land; where she could try to recover and figure out what to do next.

AoM to present: The first year since the beginning of the Age of the Machine started was probably the hardest, but it was also when she was able to hold on to herself the most.  She worked hard to avoid detection, help others, and continue to enhance her prototype.  She had little trouble with avoiding detection since Prototype was designed to avoid the detection technologies she was helping make, and enhancements were relatively simple to acquire for the same reason.  Unfortunately, whenever she tried to help other ponies that she came across, the Enforcers always found them.  The upgrades she made eventually lead to a much more self-sufficient Prototype, allowing Aurora to stay inside for longer and longer periods. After about 2 years, Aurora didn't even have to exit the machine anymore.  At this point, she had come to the conclusion that the best way she could help others was by staying away from them. She wouldn't admit to herself the real reasons behind avoiding everypony.  3 years after the beginning of the new age, Aurora had spent so much time in isolation that she was starting to think of the Prototype and herself as one entity.  She continued infiltrating bot-sites, where she could gather the latest intel, update her systems (carefully), make repairs, rearm, and get the latest IFF information.  By the time 4 years had passed, Aurora was all but gone.  In her place was Prototype A.U.R.O.R.A. (Autonomous Unicorn Recon and Operational Recovery Agent).  She had even managed to input a unique ID in the machine's IFF database to allow for more free travel.  Five years have now passed and Aurora hasn't encountered another living pony in over 3 years, not even seeing one in 14 months.  Is there anything left of the sweet unicorn that liked to perform illusions for her friends?

Psych: Pretty sure the story sums it up, but it will be interesting to see what happens once Aurora (easier to type than 'A.U.R.O.R.A.') encounters another pony.

Prototype Description and Capabilities:

Shaped and sized similarly to an Alicorn (Not an Alicorn), a horn protrudes from the 'head' much like a unicorn's would.  This area holds some sensor arrays and Aurora's custom MIC(Magic Integration Circuit) [ the device that drains Aurora's magical energies to power the prototype (also prevents her from using any magic outside of activating Prototype's systems].  The wings have micro-boosters to aid with maneuvering.  Where there would be a cutie mark is instead the acronym-name "A.U.R.O.R.A." with the break-out beneath it.  If desired, that area will slide away to reveal an external screen, capable of providing detailed information to anyone desired (literally just an external monitor that Aurora controls).  More powerful rockets in each hoof allow for higher speeds (flight only), but the wings themselves also contain a more advanced (and draining) propulsion system that allows for silent flight.  Two small, gimbaled lasers are deployable from above each foreleg as well as 2 small missiles (they are guided but not terribly strong, and only 2 can be carried before requiring replacement from an armory) from the sides. As a final resort, there is a reusable EMP available that requires a majority of the energy that can be stored/provided (Use makes flight impossible due to energy requirements, and requires week to fully recharge).

Nanobots are used for casual repairs (wear and tear) and can sometimes be utilized for more advanced damage, but anything serous requires an armory/repair center.  Even with the bots, basic materials are still required to enact the repairs.  These repairs happen at approximately the same rate as normal pony healing would, as long as materials are provided.

Final Note:: This is not an Alicorn.  She is capable of flight (due to the systems) and because of the use of the prototype, unable to use magic, as all magical energies are utilized internally as either power-source or interface management.  She can't project any magic outside of the prototype due to both the drain and the magical shielding used to mask the use of magic (considering magic is a primary fuel source).

Thanks :D and I hope you all like it. (Totally haven't proofread, pardon any grammar mistakes ;) )

That sounds awesome! The suit sounds a little like the Brotherhood amour from the Fallout series, is that where you got the inspiration?

Nah.  I thought of a basic character, figured her personality and abilities, then tried to identify potential placement in the world.  Once I had that, I looked for how she could integrate (and survive) to the world as it became harsher (knowing I didn't want to throw her in a fallout shelter).  Figured, sometimes being so close to the problem gives alternate ways of surviving.  Then I just tried to solo-RP (without using too many words) and think of things that I would design and how I would try to deal; including probable coping mechanisms etc etc. :D  What can I say, I'm a nerd ^_^

Scarlett is definitely going to have a lot to talk about with you. I mean, robot amour similar to the suits from her time and the illusion magic similar to changelings.

I'd like to join   :D

Entering the lab, the enforcers immediately scanned the room; "Pony Identified" droned out a metallic voice, "Non-critical entity".  Not even noticing that her project was slowly going through its boot-processes, she watched in horror as the Enforcers casually aimed their weapons at her fallen friend and snuffed out that precious life.  She couldn't scream, couldn't move.  All she could do was stare in absolute horror and shock at the once-lively form of her friend; not noticing that the Enforcers were performing another scan of the room, not caring.  "No Lifeforms Detected" the 3 Enforcers turned and exited the lab.

2 things, but you're already Accepted, and I'll make the 'Post' when I have the time. I just want to mention these 2 things, but you really don't have to edit your post. These things are kinda for everybody...

1. Enforcers can't talk. They don't have metallic voices, or spit insults, or even say something when they have something targeted. The machines are supposed to be really scary. The only vocalization they can do is high pitched metallic screams when trying to call other machines to come help them out. Hawks are the most vocal of the machines, letting out these 'screams' a lot like a normal hawk would, but these screams are not to call other machines, but it instead acts like a EMP. Really stupid thing, but, realize I call them machines instead of robots.

2. Proofreading sucks... But please do it in the actual RP  :kindness:

This really isn't a complaint but I also wanted to mention; I could care less if your OC appears to be a alicorn. What I hate about alicorns is that they are overated, and that you have to be royalty to be one. If your character has the somewhat of the abilities of a alicorn without actually being one (magic and flying together), that still makes me upset because it's just trying to cheat the system... BUT when they have a detailed backstory and REASON for why they have those abilities, then I'm okay with it. Hell, I even envy someone who can pull a character like that. Just realize we have quite a few odd characters in this... But what's the fun if all the OC's are dull and boring. Sure, spice it up, this is a futuristic Equestria where anything is possible... if it has a good reason to be.

@Professor Annabella get your flank over here, I think we have that last person you were talking about.

I know this may be a lot to ask... But you are officially a CO-GM. Could you maybe put a link to the RP in your sig? It's still open, even though we're about to start. You don't have to do it, but I'd appreciate it   :squee:

Consider it done!

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to put the get new post tag at the end of the link. That way, if new users click it they get sent to the front page and people who have been here before will get sent to the newst post that they haven't already seen.

Good to know :), I'll do a quick re-vamp of that portion of my backstory.

Haha, of course :D.  (I hope there weren't too many errors in my backstory though)

I agree with you on pretty much every point :D.

Thank you very much for accepting my application ^_^. I look forward to RPing with you all
