@@Gloomfury,

Aria skeptically took the headphones and placed them delicately over her ears. She was greeted by steady drone of sixteenths punctuated by brighter eighths. The song seemed to go on for some time in this manner, a subtle drumbeat the only instrument that seemed keen on breaking the monotony. As they pulled to a stop, their destination being only a few minutes away from the music hall, Aria handed back Tunsten's headphones.

"Well, the song certainly does a good job of being consistent. I do believe you were right in that it isn't to my taste, however. Having said that, I can see why you like it."

Climbing down from the carriage, she paid the driver the appropriate bits before returning her attention to Tungsten. "So how attached to music are you?" she asked, moving to open the door to the building in front of which they now found themselves.

@,

folding the headphones and placing them pack in his pocked, he followed her up to the door.  "When I'm not fighting I'm usually listing to music all hours of the day. It was one of the only things that helped me forget about my troubles. So I learn to like all kinds of music. I think that's why I like hip hop DJ's a lot. They use samples from old music no one listens to any more.

Cause of that I sometimes go crate digging in my free time.

But I don't much care for dub-step or anything that just uses sounds. It lacks a little bit of creativity. Plus the noises give me a headache."

@@Gloomfury,

"Right? Finally, someone who gets it. Don't get me wrong, I've met a pony or two who understands the intricacies of music theory and know how to apply it synthetically, but most songs nowadays...? Noise, the lot of it."

Through the door, she walked towards an elevator across the threshold. "Shame, too," she continued as they boarded the waiting car, "I can appreciate music for music's sake, but modern artists are making that quite difficult nowadays."

Pressing a button, they began their ascent to the fifth floor of the building.

@,

"Exactly. I mostly listen to older music because the newer stuff is just bad. There are a few that stand out and sound good but most is unoriginal and gimmicky. Most of them don't even write their one songs. When they do it ends up being one of their least fan favorite. The classics are filled with great songs when musicians were experimenting and writing what came to their mind.

Now a single musician has at least ten song writers to come up with just one song. And most of the times it's just going to use a sample from an older song. It's starting to get really sad.  Sooner or later they're going to run out of older songs to knockoff and start banging on rocks with sticks. And it'll top the charts." He sighed. This was the most he's ever talked to someone. And the first time he's talked to anyone about music. It was sort of a breath of fresh air for him.

“Well, I’m not surprised – it’s pretty late after all.” She said, smiling as she folded the napkin neatly and placed it next to her bowl. “The Royal Gardens? I’ve never been there. It would be beautiful covered in snow, wouldn’t it?” she mused, resting her chin in her hooves. “I don’t know much about this city beyond what I’ve experienced in my visits. I’m sure you could enlighten me to some random facts, working her constantly and all.”

cresent looked up glad to see the mare hadn't left. "ignore them then. iv had my fare share of the same treatment but the best way I look at it" he paused trying to remember the words that were exact

"they are scared more then anything else. that or they know a pretty mare when they see one. or just blind" he tried to reason try to get to the light hearted mood they had before hoof.

"I could see why it would be preferred being in your hoofs, I mean" he didn't know how else to say it so he took a bite of the food then he got an idea

"so being part pegisi makes flying a lot more fun I bet right?" he asked taking another bite hopping it would bring up the mood

"Yeah well you're full bat, so at least you can hang out with other bat ponies, being half and half is just kind of...different I guess. And I'm not that pretty." She added in that last part with a blush and quickly took a bite to try to hide it.

"What do you mean about being in my hooves?" She said looking more interested. "Well it doesn't really increase my flying ability more than any other bat ponies I'd say. It's more or less that I can stand on clouds for a while, not long enough for a proper nap like most pegasi like to do but long enough to keep things fun at least."

"regardless of being full bat" he paused catching himself, he never got an answer on an vampirebat pony vs full bat pony which is more pure....he made a mental note to find that another day.

"my point is everypony has a different world they live in, like me living in a tree house and you living in an apartment its the same thing. and stop lying your pretty. that or my eyes really are worse then an actual bats ether way"  he said pooling for something to make her laugh at something.

"then again most of my luck with clouds is sometimes running into them, when im tired and flying anyways....iv always wondered about

that. how pegisi can stand on clouds" he said taking a bite out of the pasta, then frowning at the plate seeing he had a good two more bites left. Then looked back up at the mare

@@Gloomfury,

"Ha! I believe it," she replied as the two stepped off the elevator. She made a mental note of Tungsten's quip, should she ever get into a debate over modern music. Leisurely walking down the hallway, she continued, "I once saw a band perform an insightful parody of the most popular songs this past decade or so. They were able to condense them all into the same four chords, with the same rhythm throughout. It was even more catchy than some of the songs on their own, which I guess was their point. It's just too easy to make "popular" music nowadays. Not much music theory behind it anymore, like with the older musicians, as you were saying. I didn't know the production of it was in such a poor state, though. Ten writers? Why are you even in the business at that point?

Anywaaaays," she finished with a sigh, "here we are."

Opening the door to their destination, Aria sauntered into her apartment. "I know it's no park or dark alley, but feel free to make yourself at home."

@@MiniKirby123,

"That I believe I can do. And at the end I guess I'll escort you to your friends apartment. "

Star called the waiter, still not really wanting to leave the place, most preferably even spending the whole night sleeping by the warm fire, but he knew he had to, and he had a lovely night to spend with this new met mare, and dissapointing a tour was not his idea, as much as he sucked in touring.

The waiter would come back with a payback, and I'd pull out the bits to pay for the whole meal.

"May I?"

Tungsten walked inside far from shabby apartment that made his home look like a cardboard box. He looked around a little. Along the walls with a few picketers here and there. Shelves with a few awards. Furniture that really tied the place together. Near the wall there was a record player with a catalog of records. His crate digger instincts kicked in when he saw them.

But he restrained himself. "It's a lot fancier then a a park bench with a newspaper blanket." He said as he walked over to a couch to take a seat. He then took off his hoodie and placed it on the floor next to it. It was still a little damp from the rain from the other day so he didn't want to get her couch wet.

Jazz simply shrugged. “Sure, if you wish. I’ll be fine on my own though, I think. I’m an independent mare after all.”

As soon as the waiter returned, she noticeably went quiet, and smiled rather stiffly at the waiter. She waited until the waiter returned with the bill, and shook her head firmly at his offer to pay for her soup as well. Reaching into her guitar case, she pulled out a small bag of bits and placed her fair share on the table, pushing half his bits back at him.
