Glade blinked and looked to Jay then back to Mezra,"Y-Yes...I have thousands of souls in me...around me..."he looked down and sighed softly,'Well,if she's buying...' he thought silently and he nodded to her,"I'd like some waffles..."he said in a meek,quiet voice.This mare is...actually funny,she's quite odd,yet he felt slightly attracted to her,that aura around her,the power she possessed,the knowledge she has...She is more than certainly somepony to pay attention to,she's endeavored in the dark arts,but what did that say for his fate? He felt the souls around his start to get stirred up,they too felt the evil she had done,yet she wasn't evil...it was strange...

@@Gloomfury, @@Aurora Lights, Jay looked at Mezra, feeling an answering rumble from her own stomach. "Yes, I'd like waffles, please," she replied. "And you're right. A dark magic mage named Jinx took my body over for years; she's gone now, and my magic is unpredictable as a result. I also don't have a cutie mark cuz she took me over before I got mine, and I never had time to discover my special talent."

As Glade looks at the new pony that entered the room,he looks over at Jay,he saw she too was slightly distressed at this new pony,he hoped she didn't stir up any bad memories,due to her mentioning her possession before. He sighed softly and looked back a the flames.

"Alrighty then! While we eat you two can tell me about yourselves. And maybe tell me why Rag brought me hear." She lift the two up with her magic and ran out the house. As she trotted though the streets she looked around to see if she has been to the town before. "Alright I think I know where I am, so a diner should be near by. I could eat another pony I'm so hungry." She giggled. "Not real. Pony tastes nasty." She stuck out her tongue.

Glade felt weird as she lifted them with magic,it felt strange and tingly. he gulped as she carried them through the streets,his temper started to show as he growled out,"I can walk on my own." he said sharply,he wasn't used to this treatment before,he didn't know this pony and he liked to take things at his own pace.He then used his own abilities to break himself free of the spell and started walking beside her,he looked away and blinked,his voice changing to normal again,"So, you've been here before?"he asked her...he's never really been this brave.

@@Gloomfury, @@Aurora Lights, Jay yelped as she was lifted with magic. "P-please, put me down," she protested quietly. "I would much prefer to walk. I don't like flying; I like being on my own four hooves." She wasn't sure if she liked this pony or not, but then she didn't really trust many ponies.

"No problem." She let Jay down and didn't show much reaction to Glade getting angry. "And I have. I think I came here about three months ago. I like to travel sometimes, looking for new things to study meeting strange beings from other plains of existence, looking for dead bodies. You know, normal stuff. " She shrugged. "One time I found a mare who over dosed in an abandon building near here. Poor thing, she had a hard life. But I took good care of her body and placed her soul in my herb garden. She says she happier now, so that's a plus." She smiled.

Glade looked at her strangely,"You collect souls?"he asked,he was truly curious,he could learn new abilities from this mare,"You said she was happier...How? How do you make them stop screaming,crying...How do you not feel the pain?"he asked her,He was obviously clinging to the hope that she was like him,he wasn't a unicorn and didn't possess magic like she did,but he hoped she could help him with the torment. Though he kept his hopes low,he knew he probably couldn't be helped,but he could at least learn new powers.

"Well, I only collect the souls of the ones who had very troubled and sad lives. But I do feel their pain. I've lived though the deaths of all the souls I've collected. Some worse then others. All horrible. But I sometimes come across souls who had pleasant deaths. Like dying in their sleep or of old age.
 
And the best way to help a soul in pain is to be there for them, listen to their tall, shear their pain, I got use to it over the years. Mostly because I've felt things far worse then what they have." She then got into his face, her eyes wide with no light behind them. "There is no greater pain then the pure agony of true madness. True madness will make you eat your own limbs just to feel a different kind of pain. It's like your brain is slowly melting and dripping out of your ears, nose and mouth. I would have welcomed a year in hell just to make it stop." She then pulled away from him with a smile.
 
"But I don't let it bother me. Though I've been through it three times!" She then gave a laugh that unsettlingly giddy  It was pretty much the laugh of a mad mare. When she saw that they made it to the diner her smile got bigger. "Yay, waffles!" She then skipped into the diner and sat at a table by a window.

Glade recoiled when she got close to his face,"he stared into her eyes,listening to every word closely,"...Have you felt what it's like?...To be killed? Revived,Killed,revived, killed,revived...over and over,every day...all day...You may know of the spirits,the souls that wander...but have you felt them?...Touched them...see their life,see their love,and wish,pray to any god that listened you could die? Have you felt Death's grip,truly..."he looked down,"I could tell you stories...I could let you in my mind,let you hear all my souls,all their stories...But what would it change? I'm not mad...I'm just,sick...sick...I'm just sick,I'm not mad...no,not yet...not...Yet...And I have listened,talked to them,tried to be there for them,but none of them listen...they just...Cry...plead...ask me to give them something I cannot give..."he looked down,the last part of it,his voice was twisted,demonic,dark. he closed his eyes and took a deep breath before looking back up,his eyes flickering orange before going green again,he slowly walked forward,he didn't share her enthusiasm about death,but it didn't matter...all that mattered now was food.

 

His vision blurred slightly when he walked into the diner,he saw ponies crying,others eating red flesh,he slowly sat at the table with his new friends and stared,seeing ponies being chopped up,sliced,consumed...He heard dogs barking again as he saw a pony slice off a piece of flesh and slide the plate in front of him,hearing the voice say,"Enjoy,Black..."he looked at the bleeding flesh,he stared at the plate before slowly looking up,he saw a dog,the same dog as before,it lunged at him and nearly bit him but he blinked and saw a normal scene...

 

He looked at Mezra and Jay,his face was distant,they were chatting as he looked back at his plate,pancakes with syrup,he whispered softly to himself,"Dogs..."he gulped,his hoof shaking as he ate his food slowly.

Mezra eat her waffles with a big smile. while on the inside memories of her time of madness started to come back. She didn't mind them, they just made things a little difficult. The corner of her eye started to twitch as well as her body. Her head then shot to the left to look out the window. She looked around as she kept chewing her feed. She then looked back at Glade. "Do you hear that barking?"

Glade's ears flattened and his heart sunk,his pupils shrunk to pinpoints as he whispered out,"I-I'm not the only one who can hear them..."he  gulped down his food and looked around,his heart was pounding,the sense of feeling hunted was making his mind crack,he felt the darkness inside of him start to churn,bubble,he clenched his teeth as his fur stood on end,they all felt his aura darkening as they heard faint screams,the souls around him were becoming visible to all,they swirled around him frantically,he looked around and stared at Mezra,"Y-You can hear them..."he whispered softly.

Mezra nod.  "After one has or grows closer to becoming mad, the voices start, then the barking of hounds. I mostly just here the voices of souls. It's been a while since I heard the hounds." She kept eating. "They soon drift away till you can't hear them anymore. But the whispers of things that aren't souls start to grow. They are the voices of the damned." She took a drink of milk nonchalantly, like she was talking about the weather. 

 

"Like I said, you get use to it. But.." She looked at him with sad eyes. "You are starting to seep. The first time is the worst." She placed a hoof on his. "I know, the voices wont stop, they tell you to do things, bad things. The voices told me to burn a town down and make an army of the burnt corpses. Then to kill a random filly, skin her and stuff her like a hunting trophy.

 

What do they tell you to do?"

@@Gloomfury, @@Aurora Lights, Jay ate her waffles quickly, staying out of the conversation. She didn't know anything about souls, just about the evil mage who had possessed her mind. Jinx had taken Jay's body and life over, committing terrible crimes. Jay had spent time in prison for those crimes, but it hadn't been long before Jinx had taken her out of there and back to to the daily terror of a life spent with somepony else in her head. Eventually, after nine years of constant fear and misery, Jinx had told Jay with satisfaction that she was finally old enough to be able to perform the spell that would give Jinx her new body. After the spell, Jay had been scared that Jinx would kill her, but she had instead let Jay go.

Glade looked at her hoof for a moment,his vision flickered,in and out of a hallucination,he saw her hoof normally,then covered in blood,then back to normal,"They...they tell me to...Kill them..." he said in a dark voice,he looked at the ponies around the room and his eyes flicked from green to orange as he blinked and he started to smile as he heard the hell hounds barking in his ears,"They're coming...for everypony here. And soon,they will retrieve the souls of all of them." He started to laugh as the souls around him started to turn red,their screams of agony turning into tormenting laughs,he looked at Mezra and giggled slightly,"They tell me,all the time...they tell me about you,they tell about them,Jay Everyone...they tell me I should just end it...End them...take their souls..."he placed his face on the counter as he covered his ears with his hooves and started crying desperately,"The hounds of hell will surely take us,Black...No...no,no they won't...You know as well as I do...Then why do we hear them? Insanity is calling Black,are you going to answer,or are you going to wait till it BREAKS DOWN THE DOOR?!..."he talked to himself,his voice changing from his normal,innocent voice to a deep,demonic one.

Mezra let out a breath of air that was like a sigh. "You're on the edge. What ever power you have mixed with your life, it must really take tole on you." She pulled out a bag of bits from her cloak and payed for their meal. "Come with me, I have away of making the voices calm down." She then took Glade and Jay's hooves and led them out the diner and back towards the row of abandon buildings near where Glade lived. "What I'm going to ask of you, will hurt you. But it's the best way to make the voices die down till their just whispers."

 

She then placed a huge bubble of magic around Glade and herself with Jay outside to keep her safe. "I want you to open the door in your mind. Let the madness take over. Just give them what they want."

Glade looked up at her,she was basically dragging him along with her,he made no effort to move at this point and when she was putting the bubble around them,he slowly stood,the look in his eyes was disturbing as was his smile,"Mmm...This is gonna hurt..."he growled out before  he slowly stood up again,his eyes were orange as dark spirits came up from the ground,flowing into him as he started gaining power,he started laughing as he finally looked up into Mezra's eyes,he then said in an innocent voice,"Help me..." As he finished his small plead,a large burst of energy shot out of his body,right at Mezra,she could see the faces of all the souls,they were tormented and broken,they consumed her body and she was surrounded by a black mist,it was wispy like smoke,but then he tilted his head and she could feel her life being drained out of her,then,as she felt this,there was a visible stream of black energy flowing into him,he opened his mouth,as if he were breathing it in, he growled as a black flame was sparked in front of his hoof,he stood on his back legs and held out his hoof,and a sword made from the black flame appeared,it was extremely hot and hissed with millions of screams,he then warped forward and slashed Mezra's body in half,he looked down at her broken remains and said,"Return..."he turned around and started to walk to the other side of the bubble,he sat down and put his face on it,closing his eyes,the flames dispersing.

The parts of Mezra's body started rise in the air as ghostly toxic green and black light formed around them. Soon her body was put back together. "This bubble prevents other from dying. And your mad side is a real jerk." Her face got huffy. "Her face then twitched into her own evil and creepy smile. "Care to see mine?" She started to cackle though her clinch teeth as drool seeped from her mouth. Her eyes got darker and buggy.

 

Then she felt to the ground her body started flop around as her maddening laugh got louder.But then she look towards Glade and quickly stood up. Then she sprinted toward him and picked him up by the neck  with unnatural strength. She didn't stop laughing one before getting right into his face. "Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......." As she elongated the o, she tighten the grip around his neck.

 

As she did this the ghostly green and back glow of her magic formed all around them, then the souls of those she collected appeared, like what he did. But there were far more then his. Countless souls, screaming and only getting louder.  "I AM MADNESS." The flesh started to rip on her face from her mad smile getting bigger and bigger. "WHO ARE YOU?" She asked, tilting her head staring right into Glades eyes.

Glade was ragdolled around a little as she choked him and he slowly opened his eyes again,the orange glowing in them as he placed his hooves on hers,"I-I...A"he coughed and kicked her in the face to get free,when he fell he started again,"I Am Darkness...Black,to you..." he stared at her,his skin crawling as he saw her smile and he started to laugh,looking down,the laugh got louder over time till he was rolling on his back,kicking and holding his stomach,"YOUR FACE!!! It's so..."he slowly got back up and looked at her,his face tilted,"So...pretty."his head jerked uncontrollably to the side before he looked back at her,his head tilted,"Teach me your ways...Madness,Teach me...TEACH ME!!"he demanded and looked to the side at the onlooker that was Jay and he smiled,he then looked back and punched her in the face,"TEACH ME!!" He stammered back as he slowly turned and walked back to his former place,placing his face against the bubble again,mumbling to himself,occasionally laughing and twitching.
