ManaMinori 4,145 November 7, 2015 Share November 7, 2015 The toys, which I believe are more marketed to the younger lot, than the series is, are pretty much "same base with a new coat of paint". Quite literally For instance, the mane 6 brushables. Oh boy. There's just repeated release of the exact same figure. But one has tinsel in the hair, or one has cutie mark leprosy on their leg, or one has glitter around their cutie mark. No variation in pose, size, etc. With the exception of the massive style and dress brushables. But the fact is, outside of Funko's, it's majorly the same 6 characters, with not much marketing for other ponies. But do little girls really like collecting the same pony over and over? I get that the mane 6 are marketable, but should there be more ponies thrown into the mix, more often, for variety's sake? Give people something to throw their money at, besides the same 6 characters, with minimal, at best, push on other characters. ManaMinori 4,145 November 7, 2015 Author Share November 7, 2015 (edited) Kids doesn't really care about this sort of thing, they're too busy playing with the toys. but I can't see a child having more than 2 pinkie Pies, or Rarity's, or Twilight's. I know they're not colorblind, and know their toys, if they're playing with them, all the time, and can very likely know that they already have white pony with prple hair, or purple pony with prple hair, or pink pony with pink hair. Unikitty 1,212 November 7, 2015 Share November 7, 2015 You're overanalysing the thought process of children. A toy is a toy and most are just happy playing with lots of them. Nothing wrong with having multiples of the same character - it can even make for some interesting imaginative events. Also, you're making a pretty broad generalisation. Plenty of kids don't want the same toys and will request different ones. There's a lot of children in the world so you can hardly say they all act the same. If a kid wants two Twilight Sparkles instead of one and a Pinkie Pie, that's perfectly fine. I know I have multiples of the same ponies around.
