OK, first I'm trying to learn to draw and i have no significant experience in it. second i spend 2 weeks and too much frustration on this one to be able to get to this point. i can proudly say that this is my greatest art I've ever done. And while i seek to improve, I still have some pride with this drawing. So I will politely take every constructive criticism with a smile and a burning rage like thousand sun within me? thanks greatly for your contribution.

This is pretty good; the shading was really well-done, his mane is well-textured, and his expression is readable.

Some criticism (meant to improve your skill, of course):  I'm not too sure about the geometry around his tail---is his tail swishing over to his right?  It doesn't quite look like it's sticking out straight/parallel to his spine.  The boundary lines for his forelegs and shirt seem a bit...I dunno, wobbly.  The bottom hem of his shirt seems like it should be a bit rounder, considering that his body is supposed to be round, though the current way it's drawn does show off his cutie mark.

His head overall looks really good, except that his nose looks like its left side is a lot longer than its right side---his left/right, not the viewer's left/right, you understand.  I'm not sure whether moving his left nostril so that, from the viewer's perspective, it's a little higher than his right nostril, would help with this.  (Again---his right/left, not the viewer's...I'm confusing myself, now...)

Thanks for the critique, I actualy saw those problems before but I did not realised that they were there. I will try to fix them later.

I made some quick changes but I don't really know what to do about the tail if not redraw it completely and that do not really suit me that well.sig-4210290.cxlWoWo.jpg

Hey, @Guirdann

I've decided to help you out here regarding your pony fanart piece you seek advice on: 'Creative Resources' is a perfect place for those who seek constructive criticism on original artworks and thus I've relocated it to the 'Pony Artwork' section here.  :P I've also set your prefix to 'Critique Wanted' to perhaps aid you a bit more, it's easy to change if you feel otherwise opposed to that specific prefix. 'Fan Art' is moreso a place we have artworks posted that just want to receive friendly feedback without constructive criticism involved in any context.

Looks terrific, now!  Moving the nostril really sold it, and adding the pack to his back did a lot for it!  The texture on his tail stands out even more with a background, too!

Sorry if I'm too late to the critique D8 I think my suggestions are mostly kinda minor at least, probably...

post-17189-0-11573300-1450230889_thumb.jpg

You typically want to make sure things line up when drawing heads. I drew a red line to show the alignment of the tops of the eyes. This alignment should be mimicked in the bottom of the eyes, the nose, the mouth, and the ears. I drew a blue line where your current alignments are, so it's only the ears and the bottom of the eyes that are off; the nose and mouth are perfectly aligned, which is often the hardest to manage on a pony.

I also drew a green line where there's a tangent. Because the top of the pack is so closely aligned with the bottom of the windowsill, the tangent gives the illusion that he's supporting the windowsill on his pack. This is a really easy fix, just move him maybe 20 pixels up and the tangent will be gone.

That's about all I got for criticism. The color palette is very well done, with a subtle but pleasant and unified feel to it. I love the light blue shadow cast by the fishbowl, excellent attention to detail. The shading is nice, especially on the body - it makes it look properly soft, which can be very difficult to pull off. I can tell you put a lot of work into it, and it's lovely overall. Good job, I wish you luck on your continued ventures!

:yay:

@@Blique,

Thank you very much for this critique, there was something about the eyes that annoyed me.

so this is the final version I guess. Can I really say that I'm finally done?
