-Starlight episodes (seems likely, since she's becoming more like a cast member)

-Applejack episodes that don't rely heavily on family (Mane Attraction is an example of this)

-Speaking of families, the Mane 6's families can round up and have an episode for themselves

I love how this is a thing in anime! XD Another trope I'd love to see in MLP!

Well, my hopes are vastly different from my predictions

Kind of sad that way, but always how it is with this show. (And sadly, my predictions tend to be true WAY more than my hopes, which has meant the show, to me, has generally been in a downward slope :/)

 

 

Anyways, my hopes:

 

• Two parters and adventure episodes that actually make the other five MATTER and not kicking them to being either cheerleaders or power batteries or background ponies. How about something like what Dragonshy was in season 1? Or hell, how about an adventure episode focused on one of the other five for once if a mane six two parter is too much to ask for from hasbro.
• Celestia episode focusing on her as a pony and who she is, with a really good writer.
• Some backstory for the alicorn race and what happened to them all.
• Starlight glimmer is ONLY a secondary pony ala coco pommel and does NOT join the mane six as the seventh
• A good dragon episode exploring their race some and not in the cliche frat boy way of dragon quest.
• A mid season 2 parter. Come on, how about a nice one in the middle of the season that's kind of epic but not "finale level" epic? maybe something with the stakes of do princesses dream of magical sheep, but better done and more involved? Or even a slice of life two parter!
• Lightning dust and Wind rider returning as villains for revenge.
• How about we take a moment and examine the wonderbolts and how they've been kind of depicted as being a bunch of jerks, and have dash take a moment to stop and address that? I know that not everyone likes the idea of dash deciding to do something else in life for her goal due to them being jerks, but at least an episode kind of talking about/focusing on that fact of the organization.
• Trixie episode! 10 times more enjoyable than Starlight glimmer.
• Applejack episodes that focus on HER rather than her family, like mane attraction.
• An explanation for the map that makes it seem a little more important than just a WOW daily quest giver.
• Toys that LOOK GOOD. Like, look at the charm wings toys we had. Why the hell couldn't they have done something like THAT for rainbow power instead? Those things look pretty cool and are much more passable "super form" designs than rainbow power. Like I know the reason for them making rainbow power so bad looking (Its cheap to just plaster on a load of cutie marks and color, while the charm wings required an entirely 100% new toy mold to make, and they would have had to have designed something like without wings for Rarity and AJ too making the cost of the toyline more), but still.
• How about the finale end on a cliff hanger leading into the movie?

 

 

What do I THINK will happen?

• No celestia episode
• The map will do what it has done this season, just functioning as a plot device to move the mane six around the world. Not that this makes for BAD episodes, they're quite enjoyable. Just it leaves the map feeling underwhelming.
• Premier revolves around starlight joining the group and having the episode devoted to shilling her with her saving the day and getting a throne, finale is about shilling her and making her an alicorn princess.
• Terrible toy design inserts because cheaper toy designs have higher profit margins.
