I've only just started and would love some pointers.

I'm Kittysoba and I love to play indie games and play random things with my friends.

Again, I've just started so my channel isn't flashy. Nor do I get many views..
Anyone got any pointers? :)

Interact with your audience. I mostly do youtube, but a lot of the same principles apply to live video. Some tips for making your channel fun for people to watch:

  • Interact with the audience.
  • PRACTICE TALKING. This is a big one and one that even I struggle with sometimes. I have the advantage that my footage is pre-recorded so I can do as many takes as I like, but people don't like stuttering. Practice talking so you become better at avoiding stutters, tongue twisters and such.
  • Advertise where you can. It's a good idea to have like a backup youtube account where you upload your old content so you can advertise new streams.
  • WEBSITE. A lot of people forget that having a website can make you appear more official. If possible snag a domain for cheap. I got mine for $15 for 3 years. Use your website to post when you're doing new streams and archive your old ones. A good free software to use is blogger, it's easy to design layouts for and very adaptable. It's the same technology that powers Equestria Daily.
  • CONSISTENCY. You want to make sure you're uploading regularly. People come back when they know a channel is active.
  • Listen to the fans. If fans are suggesting a game, make an effort to acquire that game.
  • Don't be afraid to get a guest host now and then. Two people talking can often break up the silence and make things more interactive. It's hard to talk to yourself for hours straight.
  • While you don't need to be flashy, branding is important. People recognize brands. I use one universal logo for my website, channel and videos.

If you do all of that, your channel will grow. These days growing a healthy channel is a lot of work. It takes a while before you start to feel the benefits, but if you keep at it, and constantly work on improving your content, you'll get up there.
