"I would agree with that these little things," she Emerald extends her own wings to add emphasis to her statement. "these are rather easy to sleep on I rarely feel that they are there and the make nice extensions for various things, like being able to scratch places my hooves can't." Emerald hopped out of her chair and went to the window and looked out at the forest and the darkness she saw the world so differently than she did before the night she could barely see anything but now, now the world was just a beautiful at night as it was during the day. Looking out the window "there are some nice changes with this new condition of mine being able to see at night is awesome."

 

She then looked at Crescent, "when I am ready to go back home what will happen to us?"

Cresent blinked a bit "I really don't know love" the batpony said

 

He stood up and walked over to Emerald "I mean, in reality I haven't thought about that yet really" he scratched his mane thinking

 

"I've been more working out what else to teach you and the like, what happens after this well..." he tried to plan out ahead of time but he really didn't have time to think about it. Cresent hugged the mare looking out the window with her,

 

"just because of how this has been for us...i's letting you make that call. After all, you are the first mare iv been with like this...and...." he was starting to fumble with his speech Emerald recognized it.

 

"lets make it your call when we can send you home...I don't want to be....I want this to work is what im saying....and I sure as hey don't want this to go sour...dose that makes sense im still kind of new to this love stuff" he said blushing all the more

"don't worry about Cres i'm not experienced either when it comes to this love stuff, but you would really leave it up to me? I mean what if I asked you to move in with me and my sister in Ponyville I mean would you? Not that I would make you do that I mean you live here maybe I was thinking of something along the lines that we visit one another."

 

She looks at him for this part, "like I live here for a week you come to mine for a week then we live our lives for the next fortnight, until the next month then rinse and repeat, so we can still be together but live our lives what do you think?"

 

Emerald then looked back outside, "shall we go now?"

"I like the idea, and ill think on it more" he said kissing her forhead "and yes lets get going" he patted her back and went towards the door leading her out. As the two lovers trotted on cresent said

 

"Manity* is the furthest iv been. my parents were part of the guard and got stained there for  while. Have to admit, loved the boats there more then anything" said the batpony  

 

*(pony equvlinet of Italy....I think...ok im gussing but IRL Italy)

They both made their way to wherever Crescent wanted to go, "that is a long why too, what did the night guard do when Luna was not around? I have never asked actually. Any ideas?"

 

As they got further into the Everfree, "you do know where we are yes?"

"not sure really, probably got turned into the night shift for Celstia's guard. that or disorganized and disbanded, either one wouldn't surprise me" he said pulling out his map with multiple markings on it. he smiled looking at it, "it a bit off, we could play a game to get there faster if you want" he said putting the map back into the bag.

"a game? Oh i have seen your games Cres no thanks, plus the speed that you can move at is beyond anything I can do, I remember the first time we met you basicly teleported onto me with speed like that you'd leave me in the dust, just like when Rainbow Dash challenged me to a race, I was so embarrassed she beat me by miles, it took a week before I could go outside after that only after almost everypony in town said that she was being unsporting to challenge me in the first place, I mean I'm fast but nothing like her." 

 

Emerald then walked over to a tree and put her hoof on it, "you ever wondered how and why the Everfree, ignores our magic?"

"rainbow dash is faster then me I'm not going to try that, so it was more of hide and seek" he laughed "and I didn't try to teleport Dash may be that fast, then again ive never met her just herd story's. 

 

"maybe another time, anyways I honestly think the Everfree is more magical then anyponys really" He said looking at the tree curiously

 

"something about how old this Forrest is could be a part of it, I mean no pony has claimed it their own do how big it is. im not sure if it expands or not every year. hence why its taken so long to map this whole Forrest out." he said that looking at the tree line above them.

 

"I wonder how often fluttershy comes here, any idea's?" he asked

"Fluttershy?" Emerald took her hoof of the tree and gave Crescent a puzzled look, "that was out of the blue?" why does he care for Fluttershy? No how does he even know her? "I would have no idea there Crescent, not very often I assume, but I do say that I would be guessing."

Cresent looked back at emerald shrugging "well if she dosent like the public, she might like the woods instead, but that's just a gusse on my end really" he said leading her more towards the destination.

 

"oh and a bat tip, if you every hungry and in the woods try these, edibul and safe" he picked a berry and tossed another behind him hearing her catch it.

 

He looked back "you know out of the mane 6 iv only met pinki pie but that was when I would get cakes and muffins occasionally wonder what the rest of them are like"

Emerald gave the berry a look before she ate it, quite sweet and nice actually. "Well I know them all from my job some of them call me friend, Well you know Pinki so skip her, Fluttershy lives up to her name is as shy as a bunny, but has an amazing talent for communing with animals, Rainbow is quite competitive, very loyal and a blast to be around, Applejack is the most honest pony i have ever met is quite kind and a damn hard worker, Rarity is interesting she is quite nice when she wants to be, master clothes maker, she has a boutique in Canterlot actually, then there is Twilight, a sweet soul, how loves a good puzzle or book always keen to learn that one, she'll probably question me for months to come about what I am now just so she can document it."

Cresent smiled hearing that about twilight "let me know when that happens ill send her my notes and such bet she'll eat that all up" he chuckeled at the idea of twilight pooring over his notes on vampirism, or his form of it all. He would have to be carful how he would write it tho.

 

"something tells me I might want to be carful on that part though, probably parnoia but still" he said looking at his gauntlet

"If you give her your notes don't leave anything out, she doesn't get paranoid at all, in fact most of the ponies back home are very nice and free thinking, well I have told you that already."

 

They walked a little more in the correct direction, "so what is the plan actually when we get there how dose one actually map a map? I mean I've read many but make one that is yet another first."

"memory and paper is all you really need, also a good pen or quill, for example" cresent pulled out his map again handing it too Emerald via wing "notice how its not one full piece of paper rather something I tore out of the note book by the edges. my scribbels arnt the best for reading hence why you see more marks then words on their also any danger are o mark in red or if no red on my then just a X"

 

as he explained it Emerald saw many scribbels and markings here and there on the map along with a deent drawing of what was around them now from above them. befor she could read more tho cresent turned around almost running into the mare by the suddenness of it.  

 

"now for the best part of the place" he took the map back from emerald "close yours eyes and just follow my blood beat, trust me you'll love it and this isn't a game." he said trotting backwards and smiling

"um you mean close my eyes again, the last time that happened you beat the crap out of me, but...I...I trust you Cres so ok." Emerald closed her eyes allowing her so see him in a way indescribable to many, but still she needed a lot of practice she could only really see his heart so not much else.

As Cresent kept walking backwards guiding Emerald he was beginning to realize maybe the blind fold fighting wasn't the best way to spar and begin in a relationship. She did need to work on the fighting tho, he made a mantel check for a sparring lesson tomorrow. He then led her to an incline, so to help he just fluttered above the ground a bit soon they were at the destination.  

 

"ok Em, now stop. and open your eyes....now" as he said now he glided to her side so she wouldn't trip.

 

When Emerald opened her eyes she saw they were above the tree line of the forest on a ledge the ledge over looked the entire Forrest with a clear view to the night sky as well. At the ledge Emerald could see cresent's tree house, ponyvile, and twilight's new castle as well in the distance, it was also beginning to snow lightly

Cresent waited for her response, ready for anything.

Emerald looked out to one of the most stunning view she had even seen in her whole life and she had seen so things. Emerald turned to Crescent "I...I there are no words that would do this sight justice." She walked up to him and have him a hug they embraced then kissed...

As the two ponys kissed all worry's, and lesson ideas disappeared from crescents mind as he let himself get lost in the kiss from Emerald, it was a deep and full of passion kiss that Cresent responded with in turn. The two pony's made out more and before they both realized it they were both hovering and kissing. Cresent pulled back to get some air and smiled

 

"knew you would love it" he said as the two pony's fluttered back down to the ground, cresent laying down with emerald now both looking at the night sky

 

"this place, right here, many ponies wonder where the most magical spot is in all equestrian is, this is it" he said nuzzling his lover

"I would not be able to tell you that but it's one of the beautiful places I've ever seen, you know who to sweep a lass of her hooves, I do love how I can see so much better at night the world is just a bueiful in Luna's night as it is in Celestia's day, I was never able to appreciate it before I changed but now, well now it's just as good."

 

Emerald looked over to him and their eyes met, "I think I'm ready to say it now I...I...love you Crescent, I have never found a pony like you and, and you have helped me through the darkest time in my young life." Emerald wormed her way over to him and nestled herself under his front leg.

Cresent smiled hugging her close to him "and I love you too Emerald, im glad to have met you how youv been abel to put up with me and still keep it going is amazing to me. I...." he was so happy he was getting teary eyed.  

 

He leaned in kissing the mare, knowing that would say more then her could form words with. "I promise, no pony's going to hurt you. ever again" he looked up back at the sky this truly was the best night of his life.

"I know you planned on mapping tonight but I'm not moving, this is too good to end." she stayed nestled in his side looking to the stars, "can we just stay here till dawn there are always other days for you to map the forest like when I go home you'll need something to keep you occupied."

"I wasn't thinking of mapping love, just trying to keep you relaxed really, I just needed a reminder of where this spot was" cresent smiled loving the nestling from her

 

"and staying her till dawn sounds like a good plan, I didn't have any other ideas after this really" he chuckeld wrapping his wings around them both to keep Emerald warm and snug

A flash of magic appeared in front of the pair, they both got up unsure what was happening, then Luna stepped out of the portal in front of the pair. Emerald instinctively bowed before her. "Oh there is no need of that Emerald, I am here to say that despite the fun you two are having together, it must come to an end soon, and Emerald's suggestion is a very good idea I was snooping a little." "You were snooping on us?" Luna looked away slightly embarrassed by her actions. "Yes I was but anyway, Crescent you have done a marvelous job with young Emerald here, but she needs to return back to her job she is invaluable to me and my sister." Luna now looks back to Emerald "you my dear are nearly ready, Sapphire is going to visit you in two days she is your final test you can be in the room with her you will be ready to return to your post, but I will not intrude on you two love birds any longer, a lovely night to you both my 'true' children of the night." 

 

with that Luna vanished as quickly as she had appeared. Emerald turned to Crescent "Princess Luna the Princess Luna was snooping on us, wow."

Cresent blinked a bit trying to believe what just happened to them, princess Luna just told them they have two days for Emeralds final test. And she also admitted snooping on them, crescents cheeks became a deeper shade of red hoping he didn't look to bad as luna 'snooped'.

 

"I goose when your an alicorn princess you get board easy" cresent chuckled at the joke. He placed a wing around his lover looking up at the sky

 

"i think I know what we are doing tomorrow" cresent kissed the lass

 

"one more round of sparing, no blind fold this time tho. or are you still salty from last time?" he asked in a concerned tone hoaping she wasn't.

"I know you're going to win again you're a better fighter than me but if you insist." Emerald then layed back down looking to the sky, "but that is tommorrow we are still here." She patted the grass next to her "back down you come big lad." She just kept staring at the stars they were so bueiful this night.
