"Fluttershy, huh? Interesting. What even made her become a gym leader in the first place?" Crystalline didn't know much about the pony, but the one thing she did know was that  she really loved animals and cared about their wellbeing. "Aren't there those new pokemon competitions where you dress them up and use moves to impress judges? I would've thought she'd be a judge there. Anyways, yeah, I'll talk to her.Maybe to convince her to use at least one pokemon to fight." She nibbled on her sandwich pondering her best course of action.

D-Pad said to his rival his even was getting strong the makeshift weights Eevee now wore was about 10 pounds with one on each leg. "Anyway let me know if anything major happens I'll be near then ever free forest training Eevee."

While the girls were walking to the Pokémon Center, two Changelings were planning an attack on them. And sure enough, just up on a roof top, stood RootedWisdom, smiling slyly as the two mares were about to walk into a trap. "Make the move. "RootedWisdom commanded. The two Changelings sprung at them, catching the two mares off guard, and pinned them to the wall. "You thought that we weren't just going to attack just Canterlot and the other places too, now didn't ya? No I also wanted a different approach. So here's the deal, you give Twilight Chrysalis's plan and how I contribute to it, (Pulls out a few scrolls, and puts it in there hooves) and you'll walk out here alive. But cross my ideals, and i will punish you." RootedWisdom spoke in a insane tone in his voice.

"Ha ha ha ha ha... Oh you three... Such amateurs..." Sparkle kicked the Changeling off of her and pulled out a sword. "Sparkle J Sword Canterlot royal guard. Youngest swords mare in Equestria. And I don't take prisoners." She said pressing her sword to the Changeling's neck. "And believe me don't even try and get these two to help you."

Cyan Flare cried in shock as she was pinned against the wall by the two changelings. As she tuned in to RootedWisdom's threat, she shivered somewhat. Suddenly, though, Sparkle kicked one of the outlandish creatures away and took a stand. She wielded a mighty sword and shouted back at the aggressive trio. Cyan Flare hadn't an inkling of what to do in this disquieting situation! She knew that she shouldn't have thought little of the news report. She desperately flapped her strong wings, but couldn't shake the second changeling. It had a hold of her hind legs, therefore she couldn't kick out. Eventually, though, Cyan Flare managed to bat the creature with her left wing, stunning it; this gave her the opportunity to writhe free of its grip. Then she raised her back hoofs into the air and lashed out with a devastating punt to the changeling's face. It fell backwards, well and truly dazed. She then turned to the other creature, who was clearly out for the count for now, too; "Sparkle, what can I do?" Cyan Flare asked. "Am I able to help? And what is RootedWisdom doing?"

" yeah take this. " Sparkle threw her one of her smaller swords to Cyan. "So? Mr Rooted? What are you doing? " she said putting her sword to his neck. "I warn you I'm not a very patient mare. " she gritted her teeth and one of her eyes turned red with anger she quickly covered it to hide the colour

"No problem. I'll go find you once I'm done." Crystalline took another small bite out of her sandwich and chewed as she thought. 'I don't want to be too rough on her, or else she might never battle. Hmmm.' She looked back at D. "Ok, I think I've got it. What if i convince her to maybe let one pokemon who wants to fight do so? That way we'll be on an even level, and she can call it off before her pokemon gets too hurt."

"Ok Eevee, I think that should be good for now anyway we should probly head home for today and come back tomorrow."  D-Pad said deciding to go home for today.  When he got home "hey mom I'm back."

 

"OK I made you favorite its in the fridge."

 

"thanks mom" D-Pad told his mom.  He ate the cheese pizza his mom made and then relaxed for the day.

Cyan Flare caught the sword awkwardly then quickly regained her balance to stand her ground. "Yamask!" she called out to her pokemon, who she hadn't sighted since RootedWisdom had attacked. "Yamask!" She repeated herself again and again, rapidly growing more tense as she awaited the next move of Sparkle and her, or RootedWisdom. Suddenly, she heard a ghostly cry, as Yamask soared down from the clouds and floated by Cyan Flare's side. "Okay, Yamask, it's time for a real fight..."

"It's time for a battle, of brutal proportions ( cackling )." RootedWisdom said in a dark voice. The two Changelings used a Tyranitar and a Tyrantrum, who bursted through the buildings.

RootedWisdom, prince of nature and all of it's elements, Ruler of EverFree Kingdom, student of Discord and Luna, Second in command of the royal guard, because technically Shining Armour is my uncle, and do you really stand a chance with your skills with a sword, I literally fought against ancients." RootedWisdom explained with a sinister snicker. "As for my Pokémon, Hydreigon!" And a Hydreigon appeared from the sky, who's entrance shook the air like thunder and it's speed was like lightning . "It's time for a battle, of brutal proportions ( cackling )." RootedWisdom said in a dark voice. The two Changelings used a Tyranitar and a Tyrantrum, who bursted through the buildings.

"If were including technicalities then answer me this. If I'm the daughter of my mother and my mother is the daughter of the cousin of Cadence who is married to your uncle then what does that make me? Your technical Cousin. Right? No wrong because it goes even father back until my Great great great great great great great great great great great.... You get the idea he's old... Granddad. Who was guess what? Was actually the link between our families which makes me your Sister. And if your sister is in the royal guard then... Uhh... Bye!" Sparkle grabbed Cyan and used the one thing she could in this situation... Running away...

He stomped the very ground, and spires encircled the mares with such precision and speed, that it literally caught them off guard. Then dozens upon dozens of rose vines entangled the mares so they couldn't escape. "Nature as my will, with the elements at my beck and call, heed my call, and show them the very definition of agonizing pain!" RootedWisdom commanded. The thorns dug deep into every part of the mares bodies as they constrict them, causing immense pain. "So you want to know what I'm doing, fine. As you can see, I am working on behalf of Queen Chrysalis, the one who saw who I was to become, and showed me a alternate path, just as difficult, just as hard, but with a catch. See I failed the test miserably, and yes, I saw the look on her face of disgust that told me I have failed. But my dear old enemy turned ally has given me a path where I never have to deal with the test again. And she is working on project that the Mane 6 has foiled a long time ago, do you remember the First Pokeggedon of Equestria, also known as the Battle of the Grand Divide? The one three years ago."RootedWisdom explained, now noticing the blood trickling off one of the mares. "Drink nicely, my subjects of Nature. We don't want to kill them." RootedWisdom replied with a cackle.

Crystalline took the time to finish her sandwich, then let Blitz flutter to her back and walked to the local gym. She walked inside and walked over to the gym leader.

 

"Miss Fluttershy? May we talk? I was hoping to talk to you about battling."

 

"P-please just take a badge and go away. I don't want to fight." She looked down at her pokemon. "I couldn't stand to see these poor creatures hurt."

 

"Could I convince you to fight with just one?" Crystalline said, sitting down next to Fluttershy.

 

"No... I just... my poor babies."

 

Crystalline put a hoof on top of Fluttershy's hoof. "Why did you become a gym leader if you're so scared of your Pokemon getting hurt, Miss Fluttershy?"

Crystalline took the time to finish her sandwich, then let Blitz flutter to her back and walked to the local gym. She walked inside and walked over to the gym leader.

"well basically the reason I am gym leader wasn't really of choice.  You see i was one of Twilight's assistants who helped her in the research of pokemon I never even battled with them they all just came to me so I just brought them to Twilight where she just analyzed their behavior and abilities and i was told to help test the trainers abilities to help see if they can move on to the next level of battles and so on."

" Sparkle tried to call for the one the only officer Jenny but as soon as she opened her mouth the Vines circled it and forced it closed. Sparkle sneezed as the Vines got close to her nose and her eyes became bloodshot. (Damn hayfever...) She thought (gets me every time...)

Cyan Flare cried out in pain as the needle-sharp thorns dug into her entire body. She dared not move, for fear that she would only make things worse. Yamask, though, had manage to avoid being spiked by the dangerous plants; he was a ghost, after all, and the spikes just went right through him. He drifted silently upwards, into the skies of Equestria, and went to find help.

Yamask looked around desperately for anypony who could possibly help his new friends, hoping that someone would notice and come to their rescue.

"You dare harm these innocent mares, for they have done nothing to you!" A mysterious but familiar voice rung off in the background. Then a dark blue mist spiraled into a vortex, revealing herself as Nightmare Moon. She notices the vines and cuts them off. "If i were you, I would start running!" Nightmare Moon spoke softly to the mares, for it was Luna AND Nightmare Moon who where helping them. As for you, RootedWisdom..." Nightmare Moon spoke with a sharp tongue. "Tsk" RootedWisdom snarled. "You shall receive punishment for your crimes. " Nightmare Moon finished speaking. "My Lord, we have new orders from the Queen, we must leave, for it's urgent." One of the Changelings told RootedWisdom. "We'll settle this later. " RootedWisdom replied as Tyranitar used a short Sandstorm attack as a form of smokescreen. The Yamask came back to Nightmare Moon, and hugged her at the sight of her. "Hello old friend, go back to your friend, she's waiting for you. " and the Yamask dissapated into the background.

Sparkle practically collapsed she was bleeding all over and Ralts wasn't in any better shape then his friend. "I'm okay. I think... " she said as Ralts hopped off her back and inspected his new friend who was in alot more pain then he was. "Ralts? " He said putting one of his hands on her cheek.

Suddenly, Nightmare Moon appeared in front of the mare and the Ralts, and begin to heal her with magic. "Now, now, you will be ok, Luna is here." Nightmare Moon spoke softly. The mare's wounds started to close and heal. The Ralts immediately recognized Nightmare Moon and hugged her "Hello, old friend. " Nightmare Moon replied. "I'll stay a little while longer before I go help your friend, is that alright?" Nightmare Moon asked. The mare nodded, and Nightmare Moon put her wing over the mare.

Crystalline looked down sadly. "So you were forced into having to see pokemon constantly battle and getting hurt...." She put a hoof on Fluttershy's "I'm sorry. I know the feeling of being forced to do something I don't want to. I have to do it every day. But I know that I have to do it for not just my self, but a lot of other ponies too. If... if I didn't then... well i don't want to think about what would happen." Crystalline paused and looked into the pegasus' eyes. "I hate to ask you this, but do you think you can battle again? Even just with one pokemon. I know you're afraid of them getting hurt, but you can end it when you think one of the pokemon has had enough."
