SoaringFlight, brony musician in the fandom's early days, died in 2013.

Back in the early days of the brony fandom, one musician named SoaringFlight was relatively popular in the fandom. He made a lot of good music and had a following. But in March 2013, he suddenly vanished.

 

A friend of Spry (a friend of SoaringFlight) was able to find his sister and contact her. She told Spry's friend that SoaringFlight died from a car accident in the middle of 2013. Apparently, he fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed head-on into a truck at 4:30 AM local time, killing him.

I'm not familiar with him and hadn't heard of him till EQD posted the news. But that doesn't make it any less tragic. It's obvious he has a fanbase, and his fans, friends, and family all miss him. Hopefully, he's playing great brony music in heaven. Condolences to his friends and family.
