cider float 2,538 February 9, 2016 Share February 9, 2016 (edited) I suppose another reason is they would start putting really dumb things in the show when they got nothing else to put in it and then we would have to accept that as canon. Like what if they put alien ponies in the show or something like wtf? We have to accept that as canon now? Slice of Life and Do Princesses Dream about Magical Sheep are good examples of why I didn't want this show to continue forever. Well thank god that DPDaMS is more or less just part of a dream so don't have to accept that hot mess as canon but still what should not be shown has been shown the damage is done. Ra1nbowCrasH 272 February 9, 2016 Share February 9, 2016 As long as fimfiction.net stays up long enough after the show ends for me to finish my 'read it later' (1200 stories and growing)... It's been a hell of a ride, and I would like to think (hope) that the best is yet to come. If I am wrong and season 6 is complete crap, I'll still have plenty of fond memories. One thing to remember though is that nothing lasts forever, we will eventually have to move on. I first heard about the show halfway through my freshman year in high school. I joined this site 2 months later, and fimfiction 2 months after that. I couldn't even begin to add up the amount of time I've spent on this fandom, from browsing tens of thousands of images Derpibooru, hundreds of threads on /mlp/ and this site, and reading over 15 million words on fimfiction. But I'm in college now, I have a job on weekends and during the summer. I just don't have time I used to. During high school this site would almost always be open in one of my tabs, now I visit less than once a month. I used to spend hours at a time on fimfiction reading epics that make Steven King books look short, now I'm lucky to find 30 minutes to read a new chapter. I won't say I have no regrets, but the thousands of hours put into this fandom are not among them. https://www.fimfiction.net/bookshelf/709463/read-stories That's 5% of the last 4.5 years. Send help. Meanwhile, I can help you by reviewing your stories!
BastementSparkle 20,326 February 9, 2016 Share February 9, 2016 (edited) You know...I really want MLP to get like...13 seasons, and still be a good show. It's not even just because I love the show and want to see more of it anymore, it's because I'm really, really tired of this "Long running shows go bad" crap that is literally everywhere. I know there's lot's of examples of it happening. Though in my case I hated shows like Spongebob and Family Guy even when they were "Good", and a show like Doctor Who could be argued went through seasonal rot, but I honestly think the newest seasons are some of the best in it's history, so I really disagree. So, my viewpoint might be different, mainly for the reason that I've never experienced a show I actually like going through seasonal rot. Closest might be Ed, Edd, N' Eddy and the Powerpuff Girls, but I still thought the newer seasons of those shows were still pretty good, even if not perfect, not bad by any means. But people treat Seasonal Rot like it's a "Fact", like literally a show can't go for a long time without it. I understand that for a show that goes on for really, really long times. A 30 seasons long show is likely to go downhill at least at one point, but a longer show doesn't necessarily HAVE to do that. I've seen some people express legit disgust at the idea of the show going on long, because it's apparently impossible for a longer running show to still be good. It get's under my skin a bit, and I want this show to prove that doesn't have to happen. Also, MLP is my favorite show, and literally one of two shows I watch on TV, other than Doctor Who. What am I supposed to watch when it's gone? Edited February 9, 2016 by BasementBloom 1 Twilight is best pony. Why hello MLPForums! What have ya been up to? cider float 2,538 February 10, 2016 Share February 10, 2016 If you look at the Simpsons' extended release they begin to try and make Lisa appealing which falls flat.
Stormlight 1,371 February 10, 2016 Share February 10, 2016 If the show were to continue its run for a long period of time, the story will start to become really stale and uninteresting, to a point where I begin to think whether or not the shown is worth watching any longer.
