Communication. How Does Everypony Stay Connected Locally?

Howdy!

Well, for some time now we have been utilizing a smaller forum in CO to keep 'every-' Colorado-brony in contact. However, due to reasons including declining interest, our forum is soon to come to a close. That being said, meetups and "pony-talks" will continue I'm sure!

Anyways, as the title says I'm curious. How do you stay connected locally in your area? what works best for getting the word out for meetups, etc. in your local area? Facebook? email chain? This very forum?

Really just looking for ideas of what works, doesn't, etc.

Thank All! /)

We used to have a provincial Pony forum called "Ontario Bronies" but we had a crappy Admin and they  fucked the site up beyond repair. So now we've got 2 Brony Facebook pages...one for Toronto Bronies and one for Ontario Bronies in general. Both seeing somewhat regular activity of showing art, selling wares or setting up meets.

Two tin cans and a really long string.

I only know of one meetup group that's near me, and I think they have a facebook page. I've never signed up for facebook though, so I'm not part of the group, and I've never looked at their page.

We walk up to each other and say hi. I don't know exactly how many Bronies live in North Dakota, but there are only two (including me) in my town.

There aren't any conventions or meetups for Bronies here, so if you wanna meet Bronies, you just have to hope that they recognize any merch you wear and greet you. And it HAS to be in a city.

Most people who live in these crappy small farm towns live and breathe agriculture; it drives me crazy. Almost every Brony I met I simply bumped into at the mall in Minot.

My only friends are POGM members and a handful of people here and on my other forums. Only one I know in person, and I use Facebook to set up meet ups with him. As for everyone else I contact them with either forums, Facebook, Skype, or Xbox Live.

I've only had contact with a few bronies in my area. Two being people I already see everyday, and one being a random guy in a children's museum who liked seeing Twilight Sparkle on my shirt. Other than that, I don't know of any bronies who live around here. Surprisingly enough, the city I live in is quite large and has many tourist attractions.
