So I'm thinking perhaps we could draw a parallel between Discord&Flutters and Rainbow Dash&Applejack? Like maybe AJ learned to let RD go awhile ago and she can empathize with Discord over his own let down. I have a feeling that's what you are shooting for but I thought I'd mention it here. 

 

I'm also thinking of causing some mischief at the table that's intended to entertain applebloom but ends up getting Apple Jack annoyed.    

 

How about you, what kind of directions do you want it to go?

Sure if we have Dash show up. 

 

Maybe Apple Jack moved on, and by the time the relationship with Discord actually starts RD finds out her feelings too late. Drama intensifies. Later down the road of course, we are still trying to build the bond between Discord and Applejack
