Echo trotted off to help another pony, and the blue hued, red maned muscular stallion answered her in a stern tone as he explained what he was doing, as he was doing it, "I get the boxes, bring them to you, and you stack'em however you think is best in your cart." He made no eye contact as he worked and spoke, he didn't seem shy though, just like somebody doing what they needed to do and not trying to spend their focus on anything else. And then he said, more frustrated, "And you need to bring your own water, on deliveries you wont have a fountain around. Keep hydrated, keep healthy." Sounded like a less meathead version of Bulk Biceps.

Indeed, indeed. Some ponies tend to take jokes.... a bit too seriously. But after all, as they say, you can joke about anything but not with anypony...

He slowly followed Luna around the cottage.

So tell me, whet bring you to this part of Equestria. Family? Faith? Fortune? I'm just curious.

"It's just a nice peaceful place, honestly I have been here for a long time, I just pretty much stay at my house, every now and then I take small jobs to keep the house running, and to get some food, and any request from the others." She started placing food neatly with the rest, easily remembering where everything goes.

 

"It's not really all that bad, it's a comfortable place, and as long as this town doesn't grow to where it gets close to my house, everything will be okay." It was obvious she wasn't much of a social pony, and didn't really care much for big crowds.

Too many ponies can be bad. It just syphons all the energy from you and you are all sleepy for the rest of the day. It's a good thing to live a bit afar from them. I do the same! I live in the Everfree forest. I can be sure that Poniville will not spread that far... However it's not as peacefull as you say. Well it is most of the time, but crazy things happen here. Parasprites, bugbears. Even Discord himself! But the town was indeed quite peacefull for some time allready. Too peacefull for my liking. I just can't wait to see what will happen next. After all, something always happen when I come around. We can say that I am attracted to places where soon things will become... interesting. But it appears this time, it takes waaaay longer. Perhaps my disaster sense is on vacation...

Even though this job was entirely manual labor, it was nice that the kind of labor changed up a bit.

During the fifteen minutes it took to load the cart, Redwood could have noticed something about Ringer. He was so strong and quick, that he was always ahead of her by about four boxes. His cutie mark, a bell that could be found at a boxing match. No time to wander though, deliveries to make. He trotted over to the gate after his part of loading was complete, opening it up for your passage.

Redwood looked at her delivery list. First up was Sugarcube Corner. She wasn't too happy about going back there too soon, but duty called. She would just have to hope Missklang didn't show up and pull another prank.

But I've been digging trough dusty forgotten books back when I was just a nerdy librarian with too much ambi... hmmm... well let's just say that anything related to him is a great mystery. The biggest of them being his origins and the source of his power. If I had reached some answers on the second one, even though... well.... necessary personal sacrifices and self-experimentation.... But I'm getting carried away... You are interested in interesting knowledge books aren't you? I perhaps can help. Through the years, I've come across some interesting books... Good times... Some of them are pretty ancient and rare. Copies of which may even not be in Canterlot's royal archives... Some interesting theories about magic and creature evolution. Some about dragons and cool magic. Have some on Alicorns as well. If I recall correctly I have an interesting one you may want to take a look too. Written over a thousand years ago by a long forgotten adventurer. It's the only copy in fact as it's his personal diary and I... well... kinda found it on his corpse... But let's not focus on the negative details. The thing that makes it so interesting is that this pony actually managed to infiltrate on of Changeling hives far on the south of the desert... Brrr, not a nice place to be in.... But he managed to stay there undiscovered for a few weeks and take some interesting details on Changelling culture before he got finally caught and.... well....let's say ironically Changelings are great spies but just hate being spied on. But you may need some sort of dictionary as he used an old pony dialect though...

   Otherwise, I may not have such a big library as princess Bookworm but I sure do have few interesting stuff. But you can always go to Twiley too. But be careful. I heard she rarely let ponies borrow her precious books so most can be consulted on the place only.... Under Twilight's benevolent eyes of course...

Interesting species. Did you know that as they are some sort of pony/insect hybrid there are different types of them? And as you could probably guess, not all of them are aggressive. The Changelings that disrupted the wedding were some sort of aggressive insect type. A wasp perhaps, or a botfly. There are far more peaceful ones. Like moth-Changelings, or butterfly ones... Well after you finished you could if you want to accompany me to my house so I could give you the diary. It makes pleasure to me to see such curiosity and love for books and the unknown... 

He looked at Luna and saw her happy face.

With more information about changelings, the better, but how much information does it really have? Ponies...hmmm.... "don't appreciate" my eyes very much...(I even got kicked out a school T^T). But that's beyond the point... Well, I'm afraid there will not be a magical remedy to all illnesses and diseases( it's in a completely other book but nopony in its full mind will try to gather the necessary ingredients I'm afraid...) neither it is a complete encyclopedy from A to Z of Changelings of Equestria. It's just a simple journal of a pony who lived with them for several days and observed them. I must say the sketches in it are pretty well made and are very accurate... This pony, not being able to understand the peculiar system of their buzzing language (It's pretty simple though) had to base all his notes on the behavior patterns he was able to observe. Also, it talks about the hierarchy, the architecture... That sort of stuff...

Perhaps indeed. But Changelings are mostly quite shy and tend to avoid revealing themselves much. Many of them don't live in hives anymore. Instead they live among us, almost never putting their disguise down. But ponies think that a Changelling can only morph into somepony else's form. But in fact, they usually have a unique appearance. Take for instance Fluttershy. She would make a great Changelling with her bond to nature and anti-social behavior. If she ends up being a Changelling it wouldn't surprise me...

Redwood was able to make the delivery at Sugarcube Corner without incident, dropping off some baking supplies that the cakes had ordered. Next on the list was bringing a few bags of birdseed to Fluttershy's cottage. Redwood wasn't too fond of Fluttershy, as she felt that she was too cowardly.

He looked out of the window as it had a clear view on all of the road. Pretty handy when you are a shy pony who want to know who's coming in advance.

"Your right, the changeling that I know has his own unique pony form. The first time he told me that he was a changeling, he was afriad that I would hate him. That wasn't true though, he was scared for no reason. He is important to me, and would love to know that other ponies like changelings. I wouldn't think that Fluttershy would be a changeling, but it's an interesting thought."

Redwood knocked on Fluttershy's door and said, "Fluttershy, ah got a delivery fer y'all!"

 

She could only hope that she didn't scare Fluttershy off, and had to make sure to not look threatening in any way. Fluttershy was just too easy to scare, so Redwood couldn't be her normal, intimidating self.

Such polite rudeness! And saying that I had a gift for you. Well, nevermind then... And I'm afraid that Fluttershy is scared already. And not because of me as you might think.

 

He pointed his hoof up.

 

Well, not intentionally at least...  Hmmm. You know what, take this anyway.

 

He reached into his bag and pulled out a small square gift wrapped in blue paper with hourglass patterns.

 

Now before you open it... one last thing.

 

He teleported to the ceiling near Fluttershy, out of Redwood's reach.

 

Go ahead now!

 

(P.S.: In it is the hourglass from before, but polished and with new paint applied to it so it looks brand new, but has the same colours)

Redwood refrained from immediately opening the gift, and was extremely suspicious of it to say the least. She'd wait until she got home to open it.
