planning Weekly freeform RP

So, I've been tossing around ideas for a campaign, but before I decide on one, I feel like it's more important to find players who fit with my DMing style. As such, I clearly cannot choose the wine in front of you!

...right, sorry. Bad joke.

*ahem* As such, I'm going to outline how my games typically differ from most forum RP. That way, anybody who doesn't feel like they'd be a good fit can just walk away and find a different RP. I won't blame you.

First of all, I prefer session-based RP, with everybody getting together at a certain time of week to sit down at the (proverbial) gaming table. Usually this isn't a problem, but in the past I've had players get left behind because they were expecting traditional play-by-post RP, where you only need to post once a day or so. I get that not everybody has a flexible enough schedule for a weekly gaming session, so I want to minimize that sort of thing by making it clear ahead of time that I typically run a more fast-paced game.

That being said, it's still freeform; don't expect a lot of die-rolling and looking up game mechanics, which (in my personal opinion) tends to bog the game down more than it helps. Again, if you disagree, nobody's forcing you to join my game.

So, yeah. Sort of a hybrid between tabletop, and play-by-post. If I'm not making sense here, please feel free to ask questions so I can elaborate. Also, once I've found a group of players and we've collectively decided on a setting and theme for the game, I still need to know where I should post the IC thread: in the Tabletop subsection, or just the general roleplaying section?

Ok, I have a few questions:

1. How do you control the presumably quite rapid posting? The forum isn't that good at live updating, so would you be using some sort of turn order / initiative, or some other system?

2. What sort of number of players are you looking for? Groups can go from 1 to 10+, but most have a preferred size to manage (enough to have plenty of ideas flying about, not too many that it can't be organised or kept under control.)

3. Will it be open-ended, with a story arc focused around one or several related events, or will it be of indefinite length, with new events occurring every time the previous ones are resolved (or even before) ?

4. What time and time zone are you thinking of?

Participating in this RP can be agonizing sometimes.

1. I'd probably come up with some sort of turn order, yeah.

2. Not including myself? At least 2, but ideally 3 or 4. Not likely to be more than that; once you go higher than 5 people, things can get pretty hard to manage.

3. Ideally something without a defined end-point.

4. My schedule is pretty flexible, so it largely depends on who's interested, what time zone they're in, and when everybody's available.
