Mackenzie's face had turned red at this point. Embarrassment? Anger? She wasn't sure herself.

 

'Did he just call me cute?' she screamed internally. 'What's his deal?'

 

Fixing her hoodie, she backed out and sat on a secluded bench away from the cafeteria. She guessed that she would just wait and read till the end of the lunch break to grab some food when the students finished their meals.

'Did he just call me cute?' she screamed internally. 'What's his deal?'

 

Fixing her hoodie, she backed out and sat on a secluded bench away from the cafeteria. She guessed that she would just wait till the end of the lunch break to grab some food when the students finished their meals.

Ray bought a chocolate muffin, and happily munched on it as he walked back. He noticed the girl from before sitting far away from everyone else, good call, he would've done the same. As he looked down on his muffin, he was struck by a sense of guilt. This made Ray confused

 

"Guilt? I mean sure she is like me, but why the hell do i feel guilty?" However no matter how much he though about it, the guilt didn't go away. So with a sigh he made up his mind "Can't believe i'm doing this" Muttered Ray as he cast an illusion of himself continuing to walk, as he secretly snuck towards her table. He dropped off the muffin, and created an illusion of pure air as he walked away towards the door. The feeling of guilt went away, but his hunger however did not

After an unknown period of time, Mackenzie decided to look up from her reading. She was surprised to see a muffin there. Cautiously, she looked around, checking if anyone had left their food on her table by accident. After a good 5 minutes, she simply stared at it. It was tempting: she was hungry, and the muffin admittedly looked extremely appetizing.

 

Her stomach growled once more, her decision made, she took the muffin and walked off towards another area, in case the owner of the muffin returned to see her eating it. She took a bite out of it. It was almost room temperature at that point, but it tasted good nonetheless.

 

Mackenzie briefly wondered if someone else left the muffin for her intentionally. She dismissed the thought nearly instantly.

 

'Nah, no one would do that. Maybe that 'Bobby' guy, but he probably would've sat down across from me and offered it face to face.'

Bobby was a bit disappointed. Mackenzie didn't seem to like him and Mary had walked off before he could really get a chance to talk to her. There were more students than just them though, so he wasn't too worried. What piqued his interest at the moment was what was happening after lunch. He heard the headmaster was picking some students for something special. 

 

'Hope I get picked' he thought to himself as he finished his lunch and got up.

Mary was talking to someone across from her table, "So, have you heard of the trinity four?" The girl across seemed quite eager to speak about it, so she motioned for her to continue. "It's a team of four made from the best students of each class. Oh! I hope they pick me!" Mary was looking distinctivly bored of this conversation, so she just kept eating her food.

As Bobby was walking out of the cafeteria, he passed by Mary.

 

"Hey, you're that girl from earlier," he said. "I was gonna ask your name, but you kinda walked off. Mind telling me now?"

 

He tried the same friendly smile that he had tried with Mackenzie, hopefully with better results.

"Oh, yes, that was rude of me, my name is Mary Carnation." She said to Bobby. "I'm sorry that we have to end our very important conversation but I have to leave." She had said to the pony sitting across, "Oh, uuug, no problem Mary, I'll see you later." Mary gave a fake smile and stood up to talk to Bobby.

Ray had a satisfied smile as she ate the muffin. Wait what? Satisfying? Why the hell should he be satisfied that his prized muffin got eaten? What ever. He noticed the duo from earlier talking again, perhaps they were talking about the trinity four, so he joined the conversation "Hello, my name is Ray. Are you two new as well?" Asked Ray with a well practiced polite smile. He might hate interacting, but he was pretty damn good at it

Mary had squinted her eyes at the person who walked up, she could not believe what she was looking at, "Umm, yes, I am new here." She couldn't stop looking at his tuxedo, It was like he got dressed in the dark. "So are you part of the Chaos class? It seems that you dressed for the part..."

"Oh, hi. Yeah, I'm new here. I'm Bobby Sanchez, nice to meet you, Ray" he said to the sharply dressed student he had seen earlier. "And nice to meet you too, Mary." 

 

Bobby was pleased that Mary and Ray were more receptive to him than Mackenzie. Hopefully, he could make friends with them.

Ray nodded "Yes, this is what i would call organized chaos, but that doesn't matter right now." He cleared his throat "So have you heard anything about the trinity four? Like how you get picked and such, since i'm hoping to become a member" Asked Ray hopefully. He only knew that the strongest got picked, but how do they even know who is strongest?

"Yes, they are indeed getting picked this very moment by the headmaster.I've heard that they are like the schools council except with more power. They manage security, organize events and act as the schools security. That's all i know unfortunately, so i guess we'll not know anything unless we get picked"

What i mean is that he is choosing them this very moment, and he'll announce them after lunch on the stage" Said Ray as though as he read up from a book. This guy isn't the brightest despite being a light mage, but he seems like a nice guy. Might be worth befriending thought Ray. With that thought the bell rang, and wveryone was called towards the stage

'That must be it,' Bobby thought to himself as he began to walk to the stage.

 

After a short walk, Bobby reached the stage and decided to pick a seat near the middle. His chest pumped with adrenaline and excitement ran through him. Who would be picked? Would it be him?

Mary proceeded to follow Bobby, he seemed to know where everything was, "You seem to be shaking, is everything alright Bobby?" She had tilted her head slightly, and gave his arm a little tap. "Try to keep your head, you might go to shock if they do decide to pick you."

"Aw, you don't have to worry about me, Mary, It's only nerves. This seems like a pretty big deal around here and I'm just excited. I'll be fine," he said. "So, do you have any ideas on who's gonna get picked? I don't really know anyone around here, so I have no idea at all."

The room went completely silent as the door to the headmasters office went up. A tall average builded, young man walked out. He had white hair and red eyes that showed true power. "A chaos user" Luttered Ray. The easiest way to spot a chaos mage, is through their red eyes. The headmaster took the microphone "Welcome students. My name is G.M, and after countless of research i've picked the schools next trinity four" He took out his little piece of paper

 

"First we have this years light magic user. His name is... Bobby! He will be acting as the school overseer on the first half of the school, meaning you'll be making sure the students obey the laws" A medal with the trinity symbol was levitated towards Bobby

 

"Second is this years Elemental user. Her name is... Mary! She'll be responsible for guarding the school" The signature Trinity symbol was levitated towards her"

 

"Third is this years Chaos mage. His name is... Ray! He'll be acting as the paperman of the school, meaning you'll be responible for all paperwork" The medal was levitated towards him, and Ray grabbed it with a grin. He actually got a spot! But his job was pretty shit...

 

"And lastly we have this years Summoner. Her name is... Mackenzie! She'll be the schools eyes and ears, meaning that she will observe from the shadows" The medal was levitated to said girl.

 

Ray was surprised at her name "Man that sounds too long and complicated" Muttered Ray "That was this years trinity four! Remember that despite you having these task, you will also be in charge of events, budget and general school laws as long as they are approoved by me" With that he walked away, and everyone broke into an applause

Bobby got up to receive his medal, as a large smile of happiness spread across his face. He felt like he was on top of the world and that nothing could bring him down. Bobby was also surprised that other three members were the only other people he had talked to at this school, but it didn't really matter.

He was about ready to hug Mary, or for that matter whoever was closest to him.

Ray didn't like being in here anymore because of the people rushing to congratulate him, so with a sinple illusion spell, he created a clone running out the door , which made the students follow suit. Seeing that nobody else was interested in him anymore, Ray sat down and transformed his bow to his butterfly knife and started twirling it around

Mackenzie had followed the flow of students from the back, wondering what was going on. She sat at the back of the room, listening to the speech.

 

'The trinity four? What's a trinity four?' She wondered. She assumed that it was some kind of position. 'Whatever, as long as I'm not involved, it'll be alright...'

 

She chose to continue reading instead of listening to the selections made by the headmaster.

 

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that the whom had called her cute had received a medal.

 

'So, his name's Ray?' She wondered. 'Chaos magic?'

 

Lost in her thoughts, needless to say, she was surprised when a medal flew into her chest. Surprised, she looked up and noticed the cohort staring back at her. Some were trying to congratulate her politely while others have her dirty looks, among a myriad of other faces.

 

'The medal, what does it mean?' She frantically asked herself. She put 2 and 2 together, and it dawned on her. 'Oh no... I'm a member of the trinity four...' She said the last part in an almost audible whisper.

 

She listened to the principal's words this time.

 

'In charge of events?! Responsibilities?!' She screamed internally. As everyone in the room began applauding, she began to feel overwhelmed. Ducking her head down, she slipped away from the room. She would need a moment to sort her thoughts out.

Bobby stopped for a second, and realized Mackenzie had been picked for the summoning position, despite the fact she had said she specialized in elemental magic.

 

"Congrats, but I gotta go," he said to Mary.

 

Bobby went out into the hall where Mackenzie had gone. When he saw her on the other side of the hall, he waved and said, "Hey, Mackenzie!"
