Equestria...a now wasteland-like world. Buildings are destroyed. Crops are no more. Everypony...gone...all but one. There is a certain energy that roams the place. It could be felt. The spirits...of the fallen ponies...they're still here, thanks to Celestia's last effort to save Equestria. What will happen now? Is there any mortal pony left? Alas! There is one...Galatea. Nopony knows how this one survived...but all that is known...he wants to rebuild Equestria and bring back every fallen pony.

@@C. Thunder Dash,

Everything felt so... empty.

It was an inherently lonely existence, being the sole survivor of an apocalypse.  Galatea knew loneliness rather well, but not quite like this. Not with the world around her so hollow and lifeless, she could feel the emptiness in her own bones. Memories were vague, and Galatea herself knew not how she survived that no one else did. Dust clung to deep red fur, and the mare walked with a limp as she pressed forward, searching in vain for some trace of life. She wasn't even sure why she was trying, only that she couldn't lie down and give up just yet.

There was a feeling. She couldn't describe what the feeling was, but it was enough to light a spark of hope where despair threatened to descend. A strange sense that, despite wandering among the ruins of a destroyed world, maybe - just maybe - she wasn't as alone as she thought she might be.

@@Miss Reaper,

There was almost nothing left. Buildings, leveled. Galatea was walking through what was Ponyville. Little did she know that she wasn't "alone". There was a warmth that seemed to hover over her. It was a spirit, that seemed to sense the life of Galatea. "G...Galatea..." It said weakly. It was a strong spirit and it could possibly be a princess...

@@C. Thunder Dash,

Warmth. In this empty world so cold, there was a warmth, and Galatea immediately stopped in her tracks the minute she felt it. Golden eyes scanned the ruined landscape, seeking out whatever could be the source of this feeling. What was it? This was a strange sensation, much like detecting the presence of something that just wasn't there. But there was indeed something, and this hunch of hers was soon to be confirmed.

The mare visibly startled at the sound of the voice, her weary body jerking. Ears flicked straight up, then swiveled towards the source of the sound before her gaze inevitably followed. That voice - it sounded strangely familiar. Kind, warm, almost motherly... If she hadn't been so shocked hearing it to begin with, it would have soothed Galatea to hear.

"H-Hello?" she called back hesitantly. And then she was holding her breath, awaiting to see if there would be a response.

"It's me...Celestia..." The spirit said weakly. Celestia's spirit still hovered over Galatea, wanting to just be around her in the desolate Equestria. "There is still hope...you can rebuild Equestria...ponies are still around. Their spirits hover. Some are easy to communicate with..but others are fragile...and can be driven insane if said the wrong thing to...please...let me come with you..." Celestia's spirit stated.

@@C. Thunder Dash,

Galatea froze, air hitching in her throat as she momentarily forgot how to breathe. One of the princesses, here with her... She'd never had the honor of meeting them before. While it should have been a moment to rejoice, that she did get to meet royalty, whatever joy she might have felt was spoiled by the fact that it had to be like this; with the princess in question dead and nothing more than a spirit.

But Princess Celestia's words instilled some hope where Galatea thought there was none. The fact alone that she was talking to the princess' spirit now was somewhat of a comfort, especially when it was explained how it was possible she was able to talk to such an entity in the first place. And if she could help guide the spirits back to their bodies...

Would she, perhaps, be able to find Ariel's spirit somewhere among this wasteland? She'd have to wait and see, she supposed.

"Y... Yes," the mare answered once she could bring herself to form words again. "Of course you can come with me, Princess. Um, just... tell me where to go or something, I guess." This seemed like a monumental task, bringing life back to all of Equestria. But, it would probably be a good idea to start with Celestia, seeing that she was, well, a princess. It was a matter of finding the body, though, if the goal was to reunite soul with physical form.

Celestia's spirit stayed hovering over Galatea. "Find my ashes...they are in the...castle throne..." Celestia stated. Of course, there wasn't really a castle or a castle throne anymore. There were remains however, but that still would make things difficult since the ashes could be anywhere.
