So, are there any poker players here? I recently started playing on PokerStars and I discovered that you can make clubs and have private tables and even tournaments both for real cash and virtual money. So would anyone here be interested to play from time to time?

Play or cash? I'm in US so no cash option for any of us, but I love poker and if the play money option has those clubs and tournament I would be down.

You can use play money in PokerStars and tournaments can be played with them as well. I just recently found out about that USA players cannot play with real cash and I find that very stupid. From what I read though, it can come back this year.

Gambling is illegal in most states, so it's usually regulated on a state level. There may be national legislation, but if enough senators and representatives don't want internet poker to be legal...what can you do?

For my thinking, they don't wanna it to be legal because they can't have their hands on your money then. But from what I've read, you can play on PokerStars for play money and not for real cash if you're a citizen of USA

No that's not true at all. It's a morality issue. If it was legal they would be able to track your wins/loses and geta 1099 issued and make a LOT in taxes. The biggest pro for it is the tax revenue.

 

Cash poker is currently legal in Nevada and New Jersey.

 

And play pokerstars is okay, just...not the same.
