Ballpoint was driving down a desert highway to Las Pegasus along with a few friends in the car. The sun was scorching and road was dusty, but she didn't care. She had gotten some vacation time from her job at the Canterlot Press, and she was ready to party and live it up. Ballpoint would make sure this was a vacation they'd never forget.

"I can't belive that you lot talked me into this, las pegasus I mean I can't even visit half the city, unless you cast a cloud walking spell on me." She looked out to the side of the road as the kept going, she was looking forward to it she'd heard about the things that happened in that city and that legendary saying... 'What happens in Pegasus stays in Pegasus.'

( Alrighty, Diva talks loudly as a default, so always assume she's talking loudly by default unless stated otherwise. Here we go. )

 

"Well, you're always going on and on about oh, looking for things to 'expand your horizons'...." Diva chirped with a mouth full of chips and making quotation mark gestures with her wings, the latter taking up considerable space now that they were in use. "I'd say a trip to Las pegasus would do plenty of expanding. Trust me dearie: from what I've heard the Nightlife there is exhilarating!"

"Oh come one Dive I'm a DJ I make the damn night life what you think I don for my bits? The concerts don't pay that much anyway." She looked at Diva like she normally did. "Do you have to shout I mean, well be loud can't you like talk normally you remind me of Luna she was like that once from what I've been told."

"First of all, Diva, get your wings outta my face," Ballpoint said as she tried to keep her eyes on the road. "Y'know what I'm really excited for though? I hear the hotel we're staying at has some pretty great shows. I'm also gonna try my luck at the tables, and see if I don't end up broke."

Strix was leaning back on his seat in the car, rocking a pair of shades and a cigar. He was on his way to Las Pegasus to get drunk and blow a lot of money on slots, roulette and hot women.

 

A smirk crossed his beak as the idea went through his head. This was going to be a fun trip.

As they drove on, the sun was beginning to set, and in the distance, a light was visible in the early evening. After only a few minutes, their destination was in sight. The brilliant neon lights of the hotels and casinos radiated out into the desert, bathing it in its gaudy glow.

They were coming up on a bright sign that read: "Welcome to fabulous Las Pegasus."

Diva turned her head and leaned back to face Crystal, an innocent look on her face. "Aw, c'mon, Crys, whatever do you mean? I can barely hear myself!"

 

Turning back to the road, she folded her wings uncomfortably and leaned forward on her seat. "Well, you did say you could drive with your eyes closed~ I mean, even though your driving- hey!"

 

Diva squinted into the distance as the sign came into view. At the sight of it, her face lit up in a smile. "Look Ballpoint!" She excitedly said. "You didn't get us hopelessly lost this time!"

"Hey!" pouted Ballpoint. "I can remember directions. Plus, how can you miss that?"

 

After another few minutes, they had reached their destination. Las Pegasus was even brighter up close. Neon lights covered every inch of the city, ponies were bustling and partying all around, and every building had something to catch the eye. Ballpoint pulled the car up to a grand, pyramid shaped hotel with a sphinx statue outside.

 

"Here's the hotel," she said, getting out of the car.

"I can't belive it how the buck did you afford to stay here of all places damn you guys more loaded than you let on am I like the poor friend here that you like cose I am poor what is that! I mean come on!" She looks up at the building in aw of it's shape and size.

"I've been saving up for this for a while, plus I just got a bonus at work. I don't know how Diva and Strix can afford it though. Anyways, here's the plan: I reserved two hotel rooms, so we're gonna share. Diva, you're sharing a room with me, and Crystal, you're sharing with Strix. I vote we immediately get shitfaced after we unpack our stuff."

Diva, keeping her innocent smile, giggled a little. "Oh, don't worry about me. I'll just pay for everything with the money I win from the casinos!" She proclaimed, holding up a poster for a casino named... 'Super lucky casino?'. "It says here: easy money!", motioning to the bright red wording.

 

Jumping in her seat at this point , she leaned forward onto the dashboard. "I don't know what you mean by 'shitfaced' but it sounds fun~"

Strix leaned out the window and lowered his sunglasses as he eyed up the hotel.

 

"We're stayin' in a friggin' shiny pyramid?" He muttered, raising an eyebrow, "How's that even work?"

 

He smirked and pulled out his wallet, waving it around with a shit-eating grin on his face. "Merc work, biatch."

"Geeze I need a better profession with more income. Are our rooms linked so we can all hang out most of the time when we are in the rooms? Please tell me you thought of that? Or if not that at least our rooms are adjacent please to Luna you did tat at least?"

"That means getting really drunk," Ballpoint said to Diva as she went to get her suitcase out of the trunk. "And it's not a good idea to bet everything on your luck in the casinos. There's a decent chance you'll end up with less money than you started with."

 

"C'mon guys, let's check in," she said to the rest of the group.

"Decent chance?". Diva scoffed. "Please dear, have you seen the advert. Look at all these ponies who won the jackpot!". Sure enough, there was a little 'hall of fame' on the advert. "C'mon, what are the chances? Besides, I'm sure Strix here can pay for me of things go south."

Ballpoint sighed as she wheeled over her suitcase. "Well, I guess it's Strix's problem."

 

"Alright guys, hurry up and get your stuff so we can check in. I wanna go out and have some fun. Time's wasting, and driving for hours doesn't exactly do wonders for your back."

"well I am ok." Crystal was followed by an automated suitcase. "I still don't know why you won't let me make one of these for you guys." She walked in side a little and gawked at what was on the walls the amount of encouragement to gamble. "I don't think this is very ethical."

"I'm only paying for you if you show me a good time, if I'm really drunk, or both," Strix grunted, hauling his backpack out of the car and throwing it over his shoulder, "So you'd hope you're lucky, sweetheart."

 

He smirked at Crystal's comment. "Las Pegasus was made for gambling, why do you think we came here aside from to get drunk?"

"Strix has a point. You could just see the shows, but then you're missing out on most of the fun," said Ballpoint.

 

She wheeled her suitcase into the lobby, which was as grand and luxurious as the outside of the hotel. Ballpoint promptly checked in with the receptionist and got the room keys.

 

Ballpoint threw everyone their key and said, "The bellboy's gonna take our stuff up for us, which means we can get right to it. I've got my money on me, and the casino's right over there. Who's with me?"

Diva laughed, pulling out a small suitcase from he trunk. "In that case, I win either way.".

 

Dragging her suitcase behind her with a wing, she stared in awe at the spectrum of lights of all types that surrounded her, neon or otherwise with sparkling eyes. Though, the sparkling was probably from all the lights reflecting off her eyes. So they sparkled both metaphorically and literally. Great.

 

She nudged Ballpoint. "C'mon, it's not like we're rushing for anything. Let's... Enjooooooy these eexpeeeriieenncee.". As she said that, she began moving really slowly, like in slow motion.

"I will try at the tables once at least I did bring some bits for it but I have a set limit I need most of this money to well pay for the basics but I have planed for this trip well I hope." Crystal looked at her suitcase which stopped, she pointed at the bell pony. "Follow that one." The case beeped and rolled off towards him. "Well I am ready to try my luck."

Strix chucked his backpack toward the bellhop and smirked at his group. "Count me in, I'm either gonna come out broke or loaded, but I know I'll be totally drunk doing both."

 

With a smirk across his beak, he joined the others as they begun their departure. "First stop then, boss?"

"It sure is. Hey, Strix, you wanna see who can drink who under a table?" asked Redwood. "Oh, and Diva, I hear that tonight's karaoke night. You can show off all your musical talent. I might join you, depending on how drunk I am. It's time to live a little."

 

Ballpoint was ready for a wild night.

"Ha none of you can sing or play like me so I'll let you two have at that while I giggle like a school foal, but who cares you'll be drunk and me too." Crystal walked into the entrance of the casino and had a look around. "So where do I try where is the best odds i'd like to make some money if I could."
