Steady rubbed her arm and looked at the ground.

 

"I-I was hoping we could talk. Is it alright if we go in?"

"Sure," Red answered. He stood up and unlocked the door. Then he opened it to let Steady in.

Thanks." Steady kept her head down as she walked passed Red. She then took a seat on her bed as Red followed.

 

"I'm sure you must think I'm horrible..."

Red's mind sparked out of his gloomy state. "What? No," he replied.

Steady looked up at him. "You're not mad? But I did something so horrible..."

"Everypony does something another pony doesn't like."

 

(That sentence has poor grammer.)

"Okay... But what do we do now? I'm still confused... I love you but I have feelings for Nel too..."

 

(DANG IT I don't wanna choose! )

Red hesitated. "You do what you think is right," he said.

"Everyony says that... But I just don't know!" Steady rested her head on her hooves. Lost couldn't even come close to describing how she felt when it came to her decision.

(Red's name should be Matt. Ponies walk all over him.)

 

Red put his hoof on Steady's back. "It's okay," Red whispered.

 

(No! It's not okay! Stop saying that!)

"... Is it alright if I give Nel a chance then? He's done so much for me I can't stand thinking I gave up on him before we could try..."

 

(I ain't got much more to work with.)

Red let out a quick sigh, then put a smile on his face. "Okay," he said.

(I feel like a rabid dog right now... XD)

 

"Thank you so much Red for understanding. I need to find Nel though. Did you see where he went earlier?"

"I think he went towards the prison. I could be wrong though."

[Twinight125 45]

"the prison?! Doesn't he realize the guards might still be looking for him?! I'm sorry Red, I have to find him!"

 

At that Steady made a swift exit and began sprinting in the prison's direction.

 

(I'll make a rather large thing to post to keep it simple.)

Red sighed and laid down on his bed. "It's okay," he said to himself.

 

(Argh.)

Steady slowed her pace once she reached the tree line.

Red sat up. He had to do to get Steady off of his mind. He noticed the trumpet and bass in the corner of the room. The maid doesn't come in every day for long term guests, so nopony was going to find them. He pulled them out of the corner and tried to think of a song he picked up a while back traveling. After thinking he has it down, he played it softly not to attract attention next door.

The music halted when Nel turned to see Steady. A small smile creeped onto his face.

 

"Hey Steady, what're you doing here?"

 

"I was looking for you! You had me so worried the guards would get you!" The two colts merely chuckled.

 

"That's so sweet of you to worry about me Steady, but I had to find my buddy here. Come introduce yourself!" Thenother pony came closer and bowed his head.

 

"The name's Bass Drop, but you can call me Bass." He winked and kissed her hoof lightly which made her blush. Nel just grunted and hit the back of Bass's head lightly.

 

"Um I'm Steady Beat."

 

"Oooh I've heard plenty about you from Nel over here."

 

"R-really?"

 

"Yep, if he isn't playing music he's talking about you. I've been trying to shut him up for awhile now." Nel hit him again but this time a blush showed on his face.

 

"Sorry again to worry you Steady, would you like a seat?"

 

"Sure thanks." Steady smiled as she sat on a log next to Nel.

Red liked playing again. Him trying to settle down made him forget that feeling of complete freedom. He did make that promise to Steady to stay here, but that doesn't mean he has to settle down. He put his instruments down and left the room. He went off to find some more hidden music halls. They may not be as glamorous as the huge concert hall out of town, but you can't always expect much.

 

(He's reverting to his drifter ways. That's a little worrying.)

"So from the way Nel was acting when he arrived I take it you two had a little fight?" The pair both blushed again before Steady replied.

 

"We just hade some uh... Relationship problems..."

 

After a few minutes of explaining Bass rest his chin on his hoof.

 

"This is a very touchy subject but... You two need to spend some time together. How else are you going to know for sure?" Nel and Steady nodded softly in agreement.

 

"But I still feel bad about doing this to Red..."

 

"You shouldnt if he told you it's alright. Even he said no would you have stopped being Nel's friend?"

 

"N-no,"

 

"Exactly."

 

(aight I'm off to bed see ya tomorrow)

Red continued to go around town, until he saw a mare he recognized from the music hall. Red asked her if anything was going on around town, and it turned out there was something going on at the music hall again, and there was a chair open for trumpet. It was only 3rd chair, but Red didn't mind. On the way there, Red explained what happened, and she agreed to help Red forget his troubles.

 

(Don't do it Red! It's a trap!)

"I guess you're right..." A smile grew on Bass's face.

 

"Good, but there's no need to leave now. Come hang out for awhile! I have some fine tunes you might like." At that Bass brought his violin back into position. He winked at the others.

 

As he began Nel smirked and helped Steady up and began to dance by the fire. He looked at her and watched the light dance across her face. Their eyes met and locked onto each other as they continued to move closer to each other.

 

Steady's heart fluttered when their chest touched. She nuzzled his neck as they continued to dance slowly...

Red and the mare sat down. There was quite a bit of time before anypony arrived, so they decided to eat something. Red snuck into the kitchen, whipped up something quick, and placed some bits on the counter.
