Hasbro is indeed a toy company, a toy company with a long history of using cartoons to provide a canon background story for their toys.

Of course everyone has their own interpretation of what is and isn't canon, you could look in any one of a hundred threads on this site alone to see that.  We could spend the rest of eternity arguing about that one fact alone (I'm not going to, just saying that we could). :)

that's all the show is. Backstory. The characters exist first through the toys. You can't tell a story of a faceless, nonexistant character. It needs to be given physical shape and features before it has a backstory to tell. First, your born, then you experience life and develop a history/ story. It's how everything and everyone works. Pony is the same.

That isn't really true at all though is it?  Thousands, millions even, of characters exist purely as words on pages, without ever having been given physical form, their stories writ large with a depth that ponykind will never know.

I can see where you are coming from, but that particular argument really doesn't work.

you're missing the point of what I'm trying to say, which I presented in the latter half of the last post. But whatever. I'm not going to continue debating the subject with you. We'll just agree to disagree.

Good day to you

Locking. As a side note, if someone says you are playing the game wrong, don't state you are taking your ball and going home. This isn't early grade school.
