The moonlight illuminated the wooden barracks, and a cold autumn breeze blew through the landscape. A black armored girl, along with her black phoenix walked towards a tent in the camp. She has been assigned to a black ops unit, that consisted of her and someone else, Amina has yet to know whom it is yet. Her captain badge briefly shone as the moon reflected on it. It has been a whole year since that call… I wonder how far we have progressed Thought Amina as she walked inside the tent. There was a lamp inside the tent, which showed the girls clear blue eyes, goofy smile and a piece of bread sticking out of her mouth. “Captain Amina, ready for briefing” Said Amina with a casual salute

In the camp hooded person walked with glow eyed cerberus walking besides him.

Cerberus and Michael talked about being assigned to some kind of black ops unit as they walked towards a tent.

"I know you would be rather sleeping but you are my companion so it's only natural that you come along" Michael said and cerberus gave annoyed grunt. As man walked inside the tent he took of his hood and light showed man's blond hair and red-ish blue eyes.

"Capesilver checking in" he saluted.

The general smiled at the assembled duo. “Thank you for coming.” He cleared his throat, and took out some papers “You two are the best performing soldiers so far. Your confirmed kills, along with the amount of alive soldiers you return home speak for themselves. However, I believe that it’s time to put you in a black ops unit. An intelligence gathering, assassination etc group, which I believe no one but you could take on. Do you accept the promotion?” Asked the general with his gruff voice as he stared down the warriors. Amina didn’t answer a first. She held up a finger as a signal to wait, as she swallowed the rest of the bread “Sure! Where and when do you need us?”

As general spoke, Michael had taken out one of his chakrams and rubbed it with cloth and put it against light.

As he put it back to it's holster. "Sure." He took another and started polish it too. "What's our mission?"

In meanwhile, cerberus had wandered out and casually looked around the camp, sitting in front of the tent.

The general folded his hands, and leaned forward. His wrinkled face could be clearly seen in the illuminated room "I want you to clear out a camp. It's located north east from here, you can't really miss it. The enemy is estimated to be about 50 strong, but i believe you two fine warriors can do it. Are you up for the task. Amina smiled, her usual chiperness ever present on her face "Okay! Just let me get my equipment polished, and sharpened. Then i shall depart ASAP"

Michael put his weapon back to it's holster. "Roger, consider it's done."

He turned towards the armored girl that was going to be his partner.

"And speaking of polishing and sharpening" Michael whistled "Cerbs, Bring my toolkit.....and helmet!" Three-headed dog ran off and soon came back with a pouch and leather helmet with golden outline decoration.

"Thank you." He put his helmet on, took the pouch and turned back toward the girl. "I can take care of that"

Amina looked over at her new partner "Thanks! that saves me some money!" Said Amina with her usual chipper voice. She carefully took off the sheath along with the katana, and handed them to him "Take good care of her for me, ok?" Said Amina with a smile "Me and her have been through a lot"

Michael took look at the katana that was that was given to him. "I will treat her like my own" Michael said with friendly smile and went outside to sat on close by rock.

He took out small sharpener stone from the pouch and started sharpening the katana.

"This is pretty good quality metal, it doesn't lose it's sharpness that fast"

 

After few minutes he put stone back into pouch and took cloth and started polishing the katana and sheath.

Amina shook her head "Nope, i met some sort of wizzard on my travel to here, and he offered to enchant it, so i ofcourse accepted the offer, and i haven't had the need to polish or maintain it since. However the enchantement is gone now, so i need to focuse on keeping the weapon well maintained."

"That explains some things then." Michael offered katana back to the girl. "There, sharper and shinier than new, when ever you need any of your equipment maintained, feel free to ask me."

He took off his helmet and started cleaning it up.

"As we are going to be partners in this mission, do you mind if I ask your name?"

"I'm Michael Capesilver and this is Dark Hound or like I call him, Cerbs."

Amina smiled "Alright, i'll keep that in mind then." She brought her hand up to her chin in a thinking like gesture "Capesilver? I believe i have heard that name in my travels. Don't quite remember where." She took down her hand, and pointed at herself "Anyways! I'm Amina Phantomeye, and this phoenix here is Shadow inferno. I call him Shadow, despite his protests though, so you can do the same." She looked outside "Now that the introductions are over, shall we go?"

"I've been in many places so not sure where you could have heard my name, but anyway" Michael smiled as he put his helmet back on and tied the tool pouch in his armor. "Aright, let's go. We can chat more as we go." He pulled his hood over the helmet and started walking.

Amina nodded, and followed. She looked over at Shadow "Hey Shadow, could you be a darling and be the overwatch? It's hard to spot things in the dark" The phoenix nodded, and took to the sky. Because he was dark, he wasn't seen clearly in the sky, thus allowing a more stealthy approach. Amina looked over at her new partner "Got a strategy? Or should we just charge and slaughter everything in sight?" Asked Amina. Slightly uncomfortable with that option

"There is no reason just charge in when we have night on our side." Michael thought a while and then continued.

"I think that we should take guard patrols first." "Cerbs could track where patrol routes go and we could wait them and take them out."

He made counting motion with his hands. "In camp of that size, patrol probably has two normal light armored soliders and maybe one heavy, depending on camp's purpose. There usually is five or so patrol groups in total, but it's only usually, so we can't count on that."

Amina thought for a second "Hmm... I could also send shadow up for a birds view on the area, he can probably give us a basic idea of where to go and not go first." Said Amina "That's where i think your idea could come in. After we get the positions, we make Cerberus track the locations, and quickly assasinate. A hit and run if you will"

Michael nodded "Yes, that is good idea, it's good to know position of tents and how many units there are outside first."

After short pause he continued.

"And when we get there, I could take it straight to general's tent so he can be dealt with." " That would prevent him from escaping if we get caught."

Amina nodded "Works for me" She nodded at Shadow, and the bird took off. It flew around the camp, checking the amount of awake guards and locating the biggest tent. He landed on Amina's shoulder short after "30 awake, most of them are just within striking range, and the rest are outside the generals tent which is in the middle" Said the bird

Cerbs left forward in same time as shadow came from his camp checking fly and came back some time after.

"Five two men patrols, three goes around the camp and they are all only heavy metal armor units. Two of them go different patches between tents, probably light metal units."

 

Michael looked surprised "Heavy patrols?" "Well, I guess I can wait seeing more than two heavy armors at general's tent."

He kept short thinking pause and then continued.

"Getting to general's tent will be tricky and maybe impossible unnoticed so I think Cerbs should stay with you two while I go for the general." "Is that okay with everyone?"

 

"It's okay with me."
