weesh 690 April 14, 2016 Share April 14, 2016 I'm getting together with a few guys on Saturday to plan the relaunch of the local brony club. In advance of that, I'm trying to figure out what made my past groups good and bad, and how to make this one more likely to succeed. I want to hear what you guys think makes a brony club great I'll kick it off. Difference between a good and a bad club: * strong communication (within the leadership, as well as the whole group) / no effort at it * creative plan for each meeting / winging it * strong specific identity (arctic bronies in alaska) / lack of focus * committed core group / just drifting along * a regular and private meeting place / rotating rooms, no projector, no sound equipment, public areas Also, I shouldn't have to say this but if someone could enter the room, spend an hour with you, and have zero idea that it is a club about my little pony, THEN YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG! My standards would be WAY lower if I hadn't already had a great local club experience. It has become painful to go to clubs that don't seem to care. I am optimistic about this relaunch though! Wish me luck! Send me pictures of ponies in hoodies

Well, I may not suggest much but I went to my community college's brony club once and never went back They watched the new episode that I hadn't seen yet, but talked the entire time during it so I could hardly hear it, then they started talking about anime and steven universe. Never going back.

Phanact 333 April 14, 2016 Share April 14, 2016 Yeah, my first time watching equestria girls was with a club that wouldn't shut up. I missed so much. I feel your pain. Plus the room smelled really bad on top of that. Maybe that's not that much of a concern with others but it definitely matters to me.

Maybe that's not that much of a concern with others but it definitely matters to me. it wouldn't matter to me if I was just attending, but if I was a leader it would drive me crazy. and I'd hate to invite people in either case. but dang, if the room had a projector, speakers and was private, it would be so disappointing to lose that. PacificGreen 1,163 April 14, 2016 Share April 14, 2016 I was in one once, but due to the small number of members and lack of funding it was just really hard to keep up. I did like how chill the club was, though, and the meeting was mostly just: Announcements on some whiteboard (it's a university club) Maybe snacks Spending the meeting watching episodes People doing their own thing if they want, usually pony related stuff or just homework.\ Chatting about the show A fun "pony guessing game" which I might talk about in a different thread. I'm so bad at snacks... i'd love for that to be true, but its not a deal breaker for me. something I'd love to delegate to someone who's excited about it. i have LOTS of pony games. some of them are even guessing games of a sort, like my pictionary game that is pony themed. 1 Send me pictures of ponies in hoodies
