Construction Con?

So apparently there will be heavy construction going on for the entirety of BABScon. Hopefully none of the panels will be compromised and everyone will still be able to hear each other.

The construction has been going on for a bit, and it seems to be mostly in the area where the breakfast used to be

If you are reading this you clearly have sometime on your hands, or you just like to read. Lets be honest they can be very related, you are on a forum dedicated to pastel colored miniature equines. Though if reading this is a waste of time, what would it say about the person who is writing it....

also The Game, Consult the Helix Fossil, /0, and other such maymays

With how noise isolated the panel rooms are from the rest of the hotel, it shouldn't be an issue. I'm minorly concerned with possible noise at Registration; along with Autographs and the medium sized panel room (Hall of Magic) on the atrium level. Hyatt has added an additional pane of soundproofing glass to all guest rooms facing the atrium. Therefore, noise shouldn't be an issue if you're staying on-site in an atrium facing room and like to sleep in.

Speaking of breakfast and food and such, Knuckles Sports Bar has taken food duties from the atrium restaurant.

Here's their website's posted hours:

6:00am-12:00am | All day offerings. Freshly prepared on-the-go items
6:30am-11:00am | Breakfast Buffet, Chef’s choice of seasonal offerings
5:00pm-10:00pm | Dinner, ala carte menu

Bar Menu available between 2:00pm and 12:00am

Happy hour is from 5pm- 7pm.

The Hyatt will have a traveling food cart selling grab-and-go lunch items again this year on-site.

Do you know if the hotel offers any sort of free breakfast to people staying at the hotel? I know most hotels have something for guests but I wasn't able to find anything about this specific hotel.

The Hyatt does not offer a complementary breakfast with regular rooms (like most premium hotels). Regency Club level rooms include a private breakfast, hors d’oeuvres, and snacks area; their new Business Plan rooms include one breakfast buffet voucher per room.

That's a bummer they don't offer free bfast. I stayed at a Hyatt in San Jose and they had a real amazing bfast buffet that was included with hotel stay. I called this hotel and they said that Bfast buffet will be around $12 per person.

As others have said, no, they don't. However, the diner across the street makes some decent breakfast items and serves them all day, if I recall correctly. I'm a pretty big fan of their French toast, although I will say their coffee is a bit on the weak side.

I'm more bummed that the pool might be closed. I'm disabled, and swimming is a big part of my therapy. I don't know anyone at the other hotels, or else I would crash their pools.

well the hotel says it has an outdoor pool which is nice, and they said it opens mid-April... but the weather forecast shows rains on Friday and clouds SAT & SUN... Saturday shows some sun but still expected to be in the mid 60's temp wise.

@@NightMare Knight, I'm already going to be wet, so who cares?  ^_^

Thanks for the info, I didn't know they have an outdoor pool.

No Problem! Hopefully it warm up enough for you to swim some laps, they also have a heated spa so even if its cold you can still go for a dip. I'll be a vendor at the con so if i get tired after the vendor hall closes i was thinking about relaxing in the spa... maybe
